Reviews 2 and 3 star

I’ve noticed that 2 and 3 star reviews usually come without any written review whereas 4 and 5 star usually have a number of observations. Usually those 4 and 5 star reviews are verified purchase.

Is there any way to determine if a 2 and 3 star review without comment is a verified purchase ? It would appear that any one, maybe by extension to a competitor for example, can press the 1, 2 or 3 star button without any justification.

It just doesn’t seem right a star rating can be given by absolutely anyone and remain uncontactable.

I could be mistaken but I don't think it is possible to leave just a star rating without a review when the reviewer has not purchased the item.

The ratings without reviews are when Amazon sends a review request via email or Alexa devices and they would only do that if a buyer actually buys.

If you just go to a product and try and write a review without buying, you need to enter a review headline and leave comments. You won't know who left that review but of course, Amazon know.

Hello @Seller_FhfzIInmoIaYS,

This is Sakura from Amazon.

I think this information found on the Answers to Questions about Product Reviews help page can resolve your doubts:

"Can a buyer review a product that was not purchased on Amazon or from me?

Yes, provided the buyer has made at least one purchase using their Amazon account. They can review any product on Amazon, regardless of where they purchased that product. However, if a reviewer did not buy the product on Amazon, their review will not be marked as an Amazon Verified Purchase."

Regards,

Sakura

It's madness! I have 1 star reviews on items that I have never sold a single one of. The competition knows, that if they get in early with the 1 star review, they will almost certainly destroy that listing. There is no sensible reason, for allowing people to leave reviews on items they have not purchased.

I have also noticed this. The reviews with comments are on 4-5 star. all the low ones have no comment at all so I don't think they are genuine- if you were a real customer and you thought a product only rated 1-3 stars, surely you would have got in touch with the seller and asked to return or whatever.

@Seller_FhfzIInmoIaYS,

Could you share the ASIN and the product review link? I can't promise anything in this case, but I would like to review it.
