I'm a new seller who just made their first sale but can't buy shipping in seller central
Hi
I’ve just made my first sale. When I tried to ship from seller central, it said shipping wasn’t available to me. One of the reasons I chose to fulfill myself was because my understanding was I could buy the shipping through Amazon as I do on EBay at a discount. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone tell me what I’m missing? The item was being shipped within province so this wasn’t difficult.

Amazon currently does not allow Canadian sellers to buy shipping through amazon.ca -- you have to make your own arrangements. Either directly with the carrier or through a consolidator (Stallion Express, ChitChats) or through a shipping discounter (who have volume discounts that they can share with their clients).
Then you update the sale with your shipping information -- make sure to do that promptly, if you are too slow updating, amazon will penalize you for late-shipment (2 days is the default) or not pay you (7 days without updating order shipping).
eBay.ca is ahead of amazon.ca when it comes to Canadian shipping.

You can only do this on Amazon.ca for China to Canada Shipments, Canada to USA shipments, and USA to Canada Shipments.
Canada to Canada shipments on Amazon.ca do not have any partnered subsidized shipping, you must use your own carrier.

Didn't Amazon or likely US Boarder stop allowing Canada to USA selling?

I tried that before too, then just to realize that they only allow "Buy Shipping" for FBA orders/inventory.
You can look for shipping services like Sendle or Chitchats!
Good luck with the new venture!
Kindest regards!

Sorry to hear this. Yes, it took me three years to find out this feature does not work properly on .ca. Chitchats or Stallion is the way I went after that but there are issues with verifying tracking with that also. Now, I have the orders come straight through to my Shopify platform and buy shipping there. You still need to go back in to the order in Amazon to manually put the tracking information. Terrible workaround. I wish the buy shipping option worked also, and sorry I can't be of any more help.

This is really Shi**y. I chose FBM as a new seller and had &12 for shipping fee for my products. Canada post charge is approximately $21 with business account. As a new seller I started having multiple sales a day and when when I had to ship the orders I came down to negative balance for my pocket. As soon as I upd the shipping price sales became zero for past 2 weeks. Amazon needs to pay attention to Canadians too. :(
