Identity verification documents rejected when applying for reactivation

When originally applying for a seller account, I uploaded some Identity verification documents, which were accepted without any issues.

My account was deactivated, and as part of the reactivation process, I uploaded the same Identity verification documents; however, they were rejected this time.

Why are previously acceptable documents being rejected?

Deactivation email appears below. The email text includes a sentence where space is provided to document the reason for the rejection [We cannot verify the document that you provided as a proof of identity because]; however, Amazon just left this space blank instead of providing me a reason.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bud

The biggest mistake I see people make with verification is missing small details. Make sure everything matches EXACTLY. That means if your identification says John Jacob Smith, all of documents have to say the exact same. One document that says John J Smith instead will cause you to be deactivated. Also St instead of Street. Even a lowercase letter instead of an uppercase, etc. Go over everything repeatedly to make sure everything matches.

So you are aware, there are multiple stages of verification, some more strict than others to ensure proper verification. Documents may be accepted initially but a more strict follow up review may have been conducted requiring more or additional information.

Upon reviewing the case I see there were a few documents provided and what the requested information was.

As we are requesting verification documents, a copy of your government issued ID with photo, which I see was provided, but the image is cropped, violating one of our policies for these documents. This is mentioned in our seller identity verification help page.

"Be complete and not cut off from any sides (not angled or cropped)."

I do also see a statement provided, this process will typically ask for a utility bill and or a statement that follows the guidance in the above mentioned help page, can you advise what exactly you were asked to provide? Statements can be accepted in some forms of verification but in this situation, it would appear that we may not be accept them.

double check all the hidden crevices --

Go over everything with a magnifying glass looking for a missing 'period' or 'comma'.

Is there a different capitalization, abbreviation, spelling, or, even an extra spa ce?

When Amazon says something must match they mean EXACTLY!

That means Street is not ST.

Jim is not James.

ALL CAPS is not SOme CAps

They mean every comma, period, dash, etc. must be EXACTLY THE SAME INCLUDING SPACE S.

I agree with everything @Seller_qTJiCxRI8PpIZ and @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp mentioned. We have seen a large number of situations were abbreviations in names, or addresses create some level of uncertainty and is rejected. Make sure your name in seller central 100% matches the documentation provided 1:1. Once you confirm the documents match information, and meet the requested documents, resubmit your new information for review. I would also suggest providing any new cases here so that we can follow up and ensure the appropriate teams are involved in necessary.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.

Amazon makes it 10000% MORE difficult than other platforms. Other marketplaces only ask for photo ID, Social Security Number, Address and sometimes ONE bank statement. All marketplaces have to comply with the same laws - but Amazon is ridiculous! I feel like they are just trying to make it harder to sell and/or want to steal our sensitive data.
