Strange email from Amazon, is it fake?

Hi Everyone,

I got an email, apparently from Amazon, last night. The email states that they are conducting a review of my account. They said they need to verify some details. The email is as below:

We are conducting a review of your account. Within 14 days, please upload the information requested to our secure document upload page: [https://sdu.amazon.co.uk] If we do not receive this information within 14 days, your account may be closed.

When I click the link I get a warning on my web browser stating that it needs to install a certificate and only do this if I trust it.

The email address it ‘seems’ to come from is account-confirmation-eu@amazon.co.uk.

I contacted seller support asking if the email is real or not, and also sent a screenshot of the ’ install certificate message’, but they have sent a generic email pointing me to the help page about phishing on the Amazon site. This doesn’t answer the question of if the email is real or not.

Can someone please tell me if https://sdu.amazon.co.uk is real? When I hover over the link it starts with this and then has a long line of letters and numbers.

I don’t want my account to be disabled, but I just can’t tell if the email is real or not.

I have 0 performance issues. Never had any issue at all in the past.

If there was issues with your seller account - usually you would see some flags / or notifications in the seller account.

If you only go by what an email says (and click on links in that email to log in to it) you could be asking for trouble.

Hi,
This is normally done as a customer for a buyers account, but if you are able to confirm one of your contacts it will help prove who you say you are iro your seller account verification / re-verification.
Check your messages from your buyers account.
You will find that email in this link below.
