VAT in Sweden
I have just found a yellow warning on my front screen. I had to acknowledge that there was a problem as I had not uploaded a Swedish VAT number.
I am not registered for VAT in Sweden. I do not store any stock in Sweden, I am not using PAN EU apart from and handful of residual units.
Has anyone else had this?

Check your inventory report for any stray returns etc

Yes we have just had this too! I also acknowledged, but am in the same situation as you. I checked my inventory report and there is no stock in Sweden. Also, my sales to Sweden for the last 12 months was only around GBP 1,000. And the threshold is EUR 10,000. So it’s not that either! I tried to speak to SS on chat, but they said it has to go to a team that don’t use chat, so I have to wait for an email from them. Think this is a mistake on their side… Will watch this thread for any intel from others!

Also, they were asking for OSS number, not IOSS. We don’t have one as we don’t store stock in any EU countries other than the ones that we have VAT numbers for!

I have just had this come up for German account, but showing a French flag next to it.
Implies about EU storage, FBA information. Or possibly shipping address details.
Never have used FBA, don’t have any items in EU storage. (All stored and shipped from the UK). And our shipping address is from the UK on all accounts.

I clicked the acknowledge button and it siad I had no further action but now the warning has reappeared.
I have opened a case with seller support but I have very poor hopes.

This is going to be a problem with the Netherlands as well then.

It is not clear if I need to register for VAT or OSS.

I have had a quick look at this. As you say it for sales from NI. Payments have to be made to HMRC. As it is a one stop shop can I pay HMRC for all the inter EU transactions ie: Germany to Sweden?

How and where do you upload the oss number?
Seller_Yja9oH7DLHk2I
Here is their latest reply. I asked how do I upload my OSS number. They didn’t answer so I have tried again. It says I have to register in my EU country of residence. I don’t live in an EU country but it sounds like the NI aspect means I do.
Hello From Amazon Selling Partner Support,
Thank you for contacting us to resolve the issue you are currently facing.
I understand that you want to know about UOSS number and it would be my pleasure to assist you today.
I understand that how important this must be for you to run the business and I sincerely empathize with you.
Regarding your query about entering OSS number, please note that this depends on how you have structured your business. When using our FBA solution and storing inventory in multiple countries, you will likely require a VAT registration number in each country.
For the EU distance sales, which are taxed in each country of your customer, you are able to request/register for the One Stop Shop VAT return in your EU Member State of residence to avoid additional VAT registrations due to distance sales.
For more information, go to EU VAT on e-Commerce
You can download the manual about how to apply for OSS in different countries. See the following.
Germany ; France ; Italy ; Spain ; Poland ; Austria ; Sweden ; Netherlands ; Czech Republic.
