What do you all think of this, on top of Royal Mail extra charging?

Having listened to feedback from sellers, we have extended the transition of your seller account's reserve policy to 31 January 2024.

As of 31 January 2024, your seller account will have a Base Reserve policy called "Delivery Date Based Reserve," or “DD+7.” This means that your funds will be available for disbursement according to the delivery date of a shipment, plus seven days.

Please use this additional time to prepare, by ensuring you are able to manage any short-term cash flow challenges your business may experience when transitioned on 31 January 2024.

This was notified to us all quite a while ago, and they have presumably postponed the start date to end of January because of all the complaints ! - for many it was due to start this month.

Sadly,it really doesn't matter what we think of it, if we want to sell on this platform we will have to go along with it.

Id love to be on DD +7. Been waiting 2 months and now told disbursement will be another few weeks. DD +60 is impossible. I tried contacting support they told me its DD+7 and tough... really, thats fine.. give me DD+7. Sending items out and waiting 3 months with no end in sight isnt OK

mines already started, I would be fine with a two week wait as that was how it was when I first started selling on Amazon back in 2011. but as a individual seller I can’t set my expected delivery date and Amazon seem to set at about a maximum of 3 weeks? when I’m sending standard 1st or 2nd class using Amazon buy shipping which includes a barcode and a code that when searched on the Royal Mail tracking site shows most of my post is delivered with in 3 days! I haven’t been paid the rather small amount that’s in my balance since this new policy came in.

That small amount often then disappears when they take out monthly fee, ad fees etc

I know! It’s so irritating that any small amount due to me gets eaten up postage that I’m now forced to buy though Amazon. I should just basically give amazon all my used cd stock as I’m not seeing any of the money I make. As I’ve said before I’d be happier going back to a two week wait then this!

oddly, if you click on the info for reserve amount it says its for refunds and ad fees. But they take that out of the 'available balance' that isnt actually available to request. I tried Support.. they decided the fact i managed to withdraw £1 the other day meant it was all fine.. but that reset my disbursement period so another 2 week wait... *sigh*

I got a email back yesterday basically explaining everything we already knew, but they’ve said they would move be back to the old style disbursement but only untill the end of January which is when they delayed it too.

Amazingly I managed to get £100 last night, I notice whenit resets the disbursement period it sets Reserve as zero. Really the last couple weeks orders should still be in there. Available Balance now set to disburse on 30th. Maybe its the 'request disbursement' bit that causes problems as it loses track of reserve funds *shrug*. Oh well, £100.. in 5 days when it clears LOL is better than nothing i guess

Why this has to happen anyway is a mystery. Amazon have credit card details, they can take money from that - a company like Amazon would not put themselves at risk for even 1 penny!

Also, we know that the money they allow you to disperse, either daily or weekly or whatever, they will only give you the money.

They can see any possible refunds coming & can hold on to our money. This is another way they can make loads of money, interest rates are raising.

I'm sure aswell if i get an order today and customer returns it in 2 days time and gets a refund, that refund money comes off the available balance also, which doesn't make sense.
