A breaker with 10 years warranty restocking fee in 2 months
Hello,
I have purchased a GFCI Breaker on Amazon with 10 years warranty and it broke in 2 months.
I have requested a return and they charged me 20% of restocking fee.
Do you think it's right? I would never buy electronics on Amazon but directly from manufacturer or big physical stores.
Amazon refused to compensate it

Amazon does not deal in nor support warranties. You would need to contact the manufacturer with proof of purchase to use the warranty.

One thing unclear from your post; did you buy it FROM Amazon? Or from another seller on Amazon?
The warranty may spell out who is responsible for problems.

Hi @Seller_9MY1ZtA7MOd62,
I'm sorry to hear about your GFCI breaker issue. According to Amazon's restocking fee guidelines (link), under the "Restocking fee guidelines" table, it specifically states that when "The buyer receives a used or damaged item" there should be "No restocking fee."
Since your breaker failed within 2 months while under a 10-year warranty, this would be considered a defective item. I understand Amazon has already declined to help with the restocking fee. In this case, reaching out to the manufacturer about the warranty claim might be your best path forward, as they should honor their 10-year warranty regardless of where you purchased the breaker.
Keep all documentation of your communications with the seller and Amazon - it may come in handy when dealing with the manufacturer.
Hope this helps point you in a helpful direction!
Best regards, Michael
