Buyer Damaged Camera, Now Seeks a Refund
I sold him a good used Olympus E420 dSLR with only about 1300 actuations. A while later he filed a return request, saying the lens mount was broken, which I never noticed. This was my own camera for a year or more, and it worked nicely with no damage to any part of it.
When I got the camera back it was in a poorly packed box, with the lens removed from the camera body, and up against the side of the box. It had damage to the back of the lens that's new and camera body damage that would cost more to have fixed than to repair it. The camera was destroyed at this residence, and not in shipping. They buyer must have packed up the ruined camera gear and shipped it that way. It looks like they ripped the lens off when it was attached to the camera.
He doesn't deserve any type of a refund.
This is not eligible for a Safe T Claim.
Please tell me any options I may have.
I sure don't want to issue this buyer a 50% refund so I can have a $70 piece of junk.

Did you take pictures of the camera and serial number before shipping it? Amazon encourages buyer fraud and theft, unless you got rock solid proof, the buyer can do whatever they want. All you could do is report them for return abuse. Whatever that is worth...
