CANADA POST STRIKE - Options for LETTERMAIL deliveries

Does anyone know of a company or companies that offer similar lettermail prices to Canada Post?

A lot of my business (over 90%) is lettermail, where if it's under 100 grams, it's 2.09 and if it's between 100 and 200 it's 3.43.

I can't find a comparable price from anyone. The only one I see is 5.29 from Chit Chats - albeit with tracking, which I don't need.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Chit Chats is probably your cheapest alternative for lettermail -- but they will only be delivering to parts of Canada. Rural and remote is Canada Post (most other companies hand over to Canada Post for those areas).

January 2025 lettermail rate increase: 100g $2.61 and 200g $4.29

No, he's saying that the letter mail prices are increasing in 2025.

I realize that now, thanks. Chit Chats is ~6 bucks for lettermail just from Ottawa to Quebec, so I'm screwed for now unless someone knows a different option.

Put your account on vacation and hope for a short strike. That's what i've done.

I jacked up my shipping charge to partially cover the cost of having to use Purolator. I figure if no one buys, it won't be any less than if I am on vacation mode. I've had two sales with the new shipping charge already.

I agree with raising prices to cover shipping, but it's gonna be alot if you want to cover all of Canada and you know how amazon's clients are ... they will buy it and then try some bs tactics to get a free deal or leave negative reviews that you can't remove. For me its just not worth scrapping my selling account. I closed all my lettermail listings until strike is over. Sincerely, I hope I am wrong and all goes well!

Sadly with this strike your clients will have to understand that you have to raise your prices for delivery, We been planning for this strike since last October (Yes one year ago October) when we first heard about it from our account rep at Canada Post, They knew it was going to happen sometime this year even that they said its a 50/50 chance it was still a big chance

Curious how do you get around using lettermail and of course since you put no tracking, amazon shows orders as 'Running late' 'may be lost' and buyers use this as a reason to get their money back (scammers); happens to me alot so I gave up on FBM lettermail (non VTR)

I have put my whole storefront on vacation mode, as 95% of it ships lettermail.
