LTL from UK into Europe using Partnered Carrier Program
Hi Sellers,
Sorry to create another PAN EU / Brexit topic, but I don’t think there is a thread for LTL’s.
I created my first shipment last week and got a rate of €1K for a 30 pallet load into WRO5 (Poland), how ever, I was quickly contacted by K+N to cancel the shipment.
Notice was as follows:
We seem to have miscommunicated information with vendors so please accept my apologies.
It’s become evident that Kuehne-Nagel CANT provide indirect representation (DDP Terms) to yourself as an amazon export vendor for shipments into Europe
Kuehne-Nagel at this time can only provide Direct representation (DAP Terms) which means ALL vendors must have a nominated customs broker in place at destination to clear goods and act as an IOR (Importer of record)
KN are working tirelessly to create an all in one solution within the next few months. All information has been shared on Amazon FBA portal. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK on FBA system before you have all required documentation as status will be updated – Incorrect documentation and will be cancelled. If shipments have already been booked and you don’t have this information the shipment will need to be cancelled and you will receive a refund. To ship to Amazon in Europe: (Checklist)
Commercial Invoice
Packing List
Customs Excel sheet
Letter of empowerment
Nominated customs broker in destination country
UK VAT + EORI numbers
European VAT+EORI numbers(It is the shippers responsibility to have all documentation ready for submission and allow the carrier to create export declaration) only then will we arrange collection of ready goods.
A member of the KN team will reach out and arrange collection and give an ETA for collection
KN will then create the export declaration on behalf of the Vendor/Shipper to allow smooth export into Europe
We will then contact your nominated broker (Complete a handover) to conduct the Import clearance on your behalf (This should be on the commercial invoice)
The export declaration charges are charged to Amazon and not to yourselves
Your nominated broker will then clear your goods and any Duties/Taxes VAT incurred is processed
I thought I would share it here to help other sellers, and also, to ask if anyone has found a customs broker in Europe which will work with Amazon’s PCP.
Best wishes & good luck!
Josh

We had the same message for K&N - Would also like to know if anyone has found any custom brokers in Europe.

Out of interest, why have you choosen to send the pallets to Poland/Germany from the UK? Is it not cheaper to send them to France?

I signed up with Avask as part of amazon’s Brexit promotion. They arranged for the EU EORI and were meant to be supplying customs representation on my first three shipments.
I have 2 pallets ready to go to the EU and had them booked in with K&N expecting Avask to deal with the customs side of things. Received an email yesterday from Avask saying:
“Unfortunately we cannot work with Kuehne+Nagel due to their own internal process."
So it looks like Amazon’s preferred pallet service and one of Amazon’s preferred suppliers for customs declarations are still trying to figure out how to work out what to do.
Any recommendations on customs brokers who have successfully worked with K&N to get a pallet through to the UK would be much appreciated.

Any more news on any of your pallet trials, guys?

In the queue with regional express, they won’t commit to a collection date. Also looking at other options. Have you guys got anywhere?

Has anyone managed to get any pallets to the EU FBA yet? and if so, with who?

We also are exporting from the UK to PL (WRO5) without success.
We have a legal entity in the EU, but Kuehne + Nagel is saying we need indirect representation in the destination country (Poland), and are recommending Avask.
This is what Kuehne + Nagel is saying.
• Unless you have an legal entity in the receiving country, you require indirect representation by a third-party customs broker for customs clearance.
• Amazon recommended below third party customs broker:
AVASK
https://www.avaskgroup.com/international-vat-and-taxes/amazon-pan-eu-program/
We contacted Avask but as @anon96055147 mentioned:
“Our (Avask) Indirect representation service for UK to EU doesn’t work with Kuehne + Nagel”
The Amazon Crossborder shipment flow help is confusing as well:
Customs brokers must act as an indirect representative in cases when the importer or exporter is:
- Not established in the UK but conducts import and export activities in the UK, or
- Not established in the European Union but conducts import and export activities in the European Union
In other cases, the customs brokers usually act as a direct representative.
From this information I conclude that no indirect representation is required if established in the EU. But Kuehne + Nagel is saying we do need it, and their recommendation (Avask) is saying they do not work with Kuehne + Nagel. So its not working, and still we have been charged… Anybody know how to cancel to get the refund?

Hi,
Anybody had success using K+N to deliver pallets to Europe?
We shipped a test order with them, which they collected 2 weeks ago. It was looking promising, as the estimated delivery date was showing 5 dates later.
Now 2 weeks past nothing happened. It looks like Kuhne+Nagel collected the goods and is storing them in their warehouse. No information provided, the amazon dedicated email said they can give any more information.

Does anybody know how to remove Poland as a storage option?
We want to create a shipment to Germany and use the K+N as a partnered carrier but, Amazon allocates the Fulfilment centre in Poland
and because it is going to Poland, there are no partnered carrier options…
How to overcome this?
