Minimal unit number you'd dare to send to FBA per ASIN

Last time I sent to do FBA, I sent almost 500 units per each ASIN.

But this time I want to launch a new product but very cautiously test the water. So I kind of want to send a bare minimum number of items.

I asked Seller Help whether there was a set minimum number of units to send to FBA, and the answer was NO.

But, would it still immediately put me at a serious disadvantage if I send in, say just 10 or 15 units for the new ASIN?

Disadvantage because as soon as a few sells, it'll be in "low stock" status.

What'd be the minimal number of the units you'd send for the FBA if you want to send very little but don't want to risk your chance of being blacklisted by FBA for low stock?

You are posting this at an hour that hints that you are not in the United States (neither am I)

Its important to know that you are not in the United States so your question can be answered properly.

I have concluded that the following needs to happen to expand on profits as much as possible if you wish to sell on Amazon.com from outside the USA.

Your stock should last you 3 months and you should order for a 3 month supply when you fall under a 3 month supply. If you are launching an item for the first time, you should try and predict how much you will sell in the next 6 months and buy a supply that will last you 6 months as your initial order. (and after your 6 month supply order you continue with the 3 month supply rule).

So if you are ordering something and the MOQ is 500 units, you need to be able to predict that you can comfortably sell 84 units of this product you would like to sell per month. Once you fall under 252 units left in inventory, you should order another 252 units (or order the full 500 units if you need to qualify for a discount but you might be paying high storage fees on that)

I would look for an idea to sell on Amazon where I know I will sell, at least, 84 units per month. I would try and predict this as good as I possibly can with tools like Helium 10 and Jungle Scout. I would not send less than 500 units....anything that sells less than 84 units per month is not worth it in my opinion.

(If you are in the United States, you have an advantage on inventory and can send much smaller quantities that the one's I listed on this forum post)

I send about 30 units minimum so they can be spread out fairly well amongst the various warehouses.

In terms of the specific minimum quantity question, no there is no minimum quantity you need to send in to FBA.

Best,

Dominic
