Item Delivered After Buyer Was Refunded - Do I have any recourse?
Bit of an odd situation but here's what happened.
I got an order with Next Day Shipping on 11/8 and dropped it off at UPS the day after received it.
When the buyer reached out to me to notify me on 11/15 they hadn't received their package, I checked the tracking info and saw no activity at all, only that the shipping label had been printed and the package was waiting to be dropped off. This was when I realized the clerk at UPS must have messed something up because the tracking should have showed an acceptance scan.
Because the acceptance scan was missed and the delivery was way overdue, I assumed it was a lost cause (the package had not received a single scan after being in UPS' possession for a week). I refunded the buyer for both the item and $54.95 for shipping. I then requested to be refunded for the shipping label because as far as I knew, the package was lost.
Fast forward to today, I get an email from Amazon saying my postage refund request has been denied because my package is in the mailstream. Huh? How is that possible?
I pull up the tracking information to investigate and see the item had been delivered on 11/29, receiving its first scan on 11/27 or 18 days after I dropped it off with UPS.
In conclusion, I am down the item and the $54.95 I paid to have it shipped with Next Day service. What I am wanting to know is if I have any recourse here or am I out of luck?

Hello @Seller_0aB1FQZvUD1Aq
Christine here from Amazon Forums.
You can always Contact UPS to file a formal complaint about the missed scan and extreme delay.
Request compensation for the shipping cost, especially since you paid for Next Day service but received extremely delayed delivery.
Provide evidence of the drop-off date and the eventual delivery date
Check if your shipping insurance (if any) covers situations like this where there's an extreme delay rather than a complete loss.
Hope this information help you with your concern.
Have a great day and happy holidays!
