More stupid irrelevant emails from Amazon
Why do Amazon insist on sending out so many emails that are often irrelevant and just confusing? To be honest I have started ignoring many of them but today this caught my attention.
Today at 06:02 I received the exact same email TWICE. They began 'Action Required: Important information about your product listings'
They said a product of mine was at risk of removal due to Compliance Regulations.
The SKU was not something I recognised as it ended with '-FBA'. Now, I used to do FBA and I did have SKU's ending '-FBA' - but I have not done FBA for about 3-4 years now. All listings with SKU's ending '-FBA' were deleted. But I double checked and sure enough I have no listings with that SKU. I even checked my FBM inventory using the corresponding ASIN - but no the item is not in my inventory,
So- to be honest I dont care if they do remove the listing as I dont sell that item and have not done so for several years. Its just maddening when I get same email twice saying I need to take action on something I dont sell or have sold for years.

It seems that lots of sellers have been receiving emails about compliance issues - even I have, and I only sell used books ! There have been a few posts on the forum about it - the bots are having a field day !!

I have had 4 of these, and the last 2 where for the same item and when you click on the link they say approved no action required, Amazon is in a mess at the moment, they are just growing to big for them to manage, just auto generated I guess by the bots.

If your not selling any more there is a remove listing bit on the right hand side of the page easier to remove than correct.

I often get emails warning me that my bestsellers in France or Italy are low in stock.
1) I have never sold in those countries
2) I have never sold those products
3) I don't do FBA
What worries me is the fact that bots seem to confuse sellers, my account could potentially be deactivated because they think I am someone else. It has already happened once and it's hellish to get anyone to believe you and not the bots.

Think Amazon are aware of this issue, as I had 56 of these yesterday morning I have not appealed any of them this morning there are only 14 and still disappearing as 2 more have disappeared.

A year or two ago I had one insisting I complete the fields for what type of electric plug I fit to my tins of wood polish. Of course I couldn't say 'it's a tin of polish', I had no option to say 'it's not electric' or 'no plug provided', I had to give them which country the electrics where from and hence the plug type.
They insisted for weeks and weeks, my listing was suspended for a while (it was also my best selling line). SS were useless as usual, eventually the listing changed without any warning to have 'attribute irrelevant' next to it and the plug thing.
Yet all could have been solved with one simple 1 minute human intervention, looking at the product, and taking the massively huge leap for mankind by saying 'it's a tin of polish, that doesn't need a plug'

We received a compliance email on Thursday afternoon, the first email about them. When we checked the compliance page, there were 40 items with compliance issues. Some of the items Amazon had already disabled the listing even though it says the compliance required date is "9th Sept".
As we are mainly a supplier and don't actively sell on all our branded listings, we don't immediately know of an issue until either Amazon contacts us or one of our resellers does.
Since one of the items Amazon disabled the listing for is a popular one sold by our resellers, we can only assume that the listings were disabled at the time that the email came through, as had it been sooner, our resellers would have contacted us.
On top of this, Amazon has not even acknowledge or responded to the submissions provided on the ones they disabled and it has now been 5 days.
This whole thing is ridiculous.

Thank you for posting on the forum.
Amazon is aware of the situation and are looking into it.
In the mean time I am gathering all posts in this thread:
Why have I suddenly been bombarded with EC conformity document requirements.
I hope to see you there.
Therefore, I will close this thread as a duplicate.

It can definitely be frustrating to receive confusing and seemingly irrelevant emails from Amazon, especially when they reference products you no longer sell. Amazon sends out these emails to ensure compliance with their policies, often using automated systems that may not always perfectly match your current listings. The duplicate email might just be a glitch in their system.
In this case, since the SKU in question is outdated and no longer part of your inventory, you can disregard the email. It's always a good idea to double-check your inventory and any potential old listings, just to be sure nothing slips through the cracks. If these types of emails become a regular issue, consider contacting Amazon Seller Support for clarification.
