i have had this problem for weeks, i keep calling and no one can seem to fix this issue.
i need to add keywords because no one can find my product but it keeps saying error 5995 and im not trying to change the brand name at all. any help?

According to the "Error 5995" help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GPTQ2W7MDYJMPB97), this error should only occur when trying to change an ASIN's brand name, which as you said, was not what you intended to do.
Which method were you using to update your keywords? Flat File or webinterface?
If you used a flat file, have you set it to partial update? If not, Amazon would interpret empty columns as an intention to overwrite (delete) a product attribute. If you set it to update, your flat file tried to delete the brand name. In that scenario the 5995 error would save you from corrupting your listings.
If you're editing via the web interface, double check that the brand name in the input field matches exactly what's shown as the current value above it. If there is some tiny difference, that could potentially explain the error message as well.
If the error persists even when you've verified these points, contact Seller Support and mention error code 5995 as suggested in the help page I mentioned earlier.
