aged inventory

Hello everyone,

I have just ordered 1000 units of my products however I am not able to send in new shipments because of aged inventory. I have a surcharge of about 8.60$ and 236 ages inventory. I already ordered 1000 units and spent money on that. That money will go to a waste if I am not able to send in the units to the warehouse. How do I resolve this issue about aged inventory? Should I call amazon? I only have one product on amazon and I don't make too much money but it does bring in a few extra cash for me so I was going to try to find more products to sell but looks like it will be difficult if we can't send in new inventory and I will loose out on money.

Hi @Seller_cA534HpvwPvdB,

I feel for you - it's really frustrating to have inventory you can't send in, especially when you've already made the investment. Let me help explain your options based on Amazon's help pages.

Looking at the Aged Inventory Surcharge help page, you have a couple of ways to handle those 236 units:

You could try selling through the inventory faster by creating an Amazon Outlet deal. Under the "How can I avoid the aged inventory surcharge?" section, it mentions this needs to be at least a 20% discount.

Or you could submit a removal/disposal order before 11:59 PM PT on April 14th (as mentioned in the same section). Just keep in mind that if you go this route, there's a temporary restriction on sending in new units. The "When can you replenish your inventory?" section explains that you won't be able to send in more units for 3 months, unless your inventory drops below Amazon's 8-week sales projection (which they calculate from your last 90 days of sales).

To keep an eye on your inventory age and avoid future surcharges, you might want to check out the FBA Inventory tool at this link.

Hope this helps!

Best regards, Michael
