Scammers And Threats From Amazon
Like all of us who sell on Amazon I get my fair share of scammers, but why do customers make it so obvious that they are out for freebies. I received this message from Amazon a few days ago:
Details: Hello Mr seller,
The customer put in contact with us because wants to cancel the order but its not possible because the order its already dispatched but those orders never arrive to the customer for that reason please put in contact with the customer and help with this situation and give to him the refund for this items. as soon as possible because he is expecting for. remember that if you dont collaborate with the customer we need to launch the a to z.
So… the buyer wanted to cancel but couldn’t as the goods have been shipped… But, they didn’t arrive so a refund is required. Upon checking the two orders both were shipped to different name address, one being the buyers home and with the buyers name, the other to a different name and address, a commercial address this time.
Now I may not be the brightest spark but when I checked the orders I saw three had been made, one for three items that had been cancelled. Strangely this cancelled order contained the two items, ordered separately, that INRs had been claimed. How strange.
This has been reported to Amazon but will they take any action? I doubt it very much. Will the customer purchase from me again and expect a refund for another INR? Probably but he’s been added to my naughty list and won’t be doing it again.

report to the police and they will take action if its been reported previously. Weve had more this year than in the previous 10 years years combined.

Hi Blue_Eyed_Boy
When the seller marks the order as dispatched the customer receives an email saying the order cannot be cancelled. Based on the information provided it appears odd however if the order is being delivered to a commercial premises I would telephone the reception making enquiry. All our incoming mail is handled by reception. I would also check whether you have been provided with accurate delivery address also. Before you record the claim with the courier in accordance with their claims process its recommended you do a little background work.
Personally I don’t like Amazon making references to A-Z claims when the seller has not been given the opportunity to address the issue. We have found couple lately making a false claim against Royal Mail. Many seem to forget the claim is against the courier and not the seller if he/she can prove the order was dispatched.

Did they actually address you as that ?
Are you sure it is a genuine email from Amazon ?
It is a terrible email, no punctuation and obviously the writer does not have English as their first language.

The business decision is yours.
With regards to orders delivered to commercial premises you are well within your right to check. We check with the delivery office to see if there any any issues with the Mail which helps us decide which way to approach the claim. You are not contacting the customer directly by telephone which is what the policy says.
We know certain postcodes are known for problems like SW18, BN1, MK4 etc.

I would write back and tell them that you don’t apprecite threats and that you expect better from Amazon.

As sellers we have many years of experience dealing with claims so I wish they would treat us with a little more respect.

Do you think one of the orders was made by mistake? Possibly they put in the wrong address and only realised afterwards?

Even by Amazon standards that ‘Hello Mr Seller’ message is appallingly written - ungrammatical, & with no punctuation - because he is expecting for, for example, is nonsense; run through Google translate maybe. My immediate reaction was that it is a scam

Its so bad now I tell my partner if you don’t do it I will raise an A-Z claim then I wake up.

In the future everything you buy on Amazon will be free… except the Amazon fulfilled orders. Them you have to pay for.
