And Amazon are at it again - inactive due to price alert

Oooh just by chance they happen to be all items that Amazon are selling themselves as well.
90 products all inactive due to "Potential high pricing error)
No it’s not an error - I build in the cost of P&P into my product price.
Go to fix it and save them all
5 minutes later back again with inactive.

If Amazon want to sell it themselves at a lower than the RRP then fine but us smaller sellers need to cover our postage and packing costs.

Ok so they think i’m price gouging by building £3.50 into the price of the UNDERWEAR that I sell to cover the postage costs.

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

We understand that you have an issue with Listings under Price Alerts. We have investigated the listing thoroughly and found the following:

The products are temporarily blocked because your listings has been identified for price gouging on COVID-19 selection. You will have to appeal and submit a plan of action to have your ASINs unblocked.

If you would like Amazon to consider lifting this suspension, please send us a plan that explains how you will address this problem and includes the following:

  1. The steps you have taken to comply with the Marketplace Fair Pricing Policy on all ASINs you offer.
  2. The steps you will periodically take to ensure that similar issues will not repeat.
Any additional details you would like us to know.

Hey
See " Pricing your item" section:

is clearly stated that we, seller "may list items at any price we feel is fair, regardless of the Amazon.co.uk price or list price. Furthermore the reference The UK Competition and Markets Authority guidance. which states: “Re-pricing software can be used to encourage healthy competition among online sellers, but it’s illegal to use it as part of a price-fixing agreement.” Which exactly what amazon algo does to our listing, it fix our prices at the the level that is quite often impossible to make any profit. It is not only against the Amazon policy but it is ILLEGAL.I suggest you guys read it and start sending queries to SS referencing that.

Today I’ve been hit with many high pricing notifications for items that are not high priced. No matter what I do apart from giving merchandise away the item keeps getting removed and flagged as a high price. Well I’ve had enough of this nonsense. Who are Amazon to tell me what I can sell my items for. Perhaps they should flag up the drop shippers that truly are charging excessive prices.

Well I’ve had enough. I’ve removed much of my stock and will only sell it on my own website and the well known auction site. Amazon, you are going to lose many marketplace sellers. Perhaps that’s their plan. Who cares. They should realize that nothing is forever and that includes this selling platform.

I’ve suddenly been hit by this nonsense today, too. A book where I’m the only seller at £25 has been deactivated, plus one where I am selling at £35 and there is a new copy at £56. I fiddled for ages to try to get the bot to accept the price and reactivate, to no avail. Then I tried relisting the £35 book as ‘collectible’ and it worked- the listing and existing price have been reinstated (for now). I don’t like listing things as collectible as there have been circumstances where they don’t always get displayed to the customer, but it’s better than nothing. Probably find tomorrow it’s been deactivated again. Sigh.

It is completely and utterly broken and i am on my second account deactivation this month because of it. Appealed and showed them they where wrong first time around and was back in 24 hours. Now onto day 3 of this and not heard a peep from them because of a product i was making £1.10 profit on (10%). Farcical and completely unfair.

Same issues here, ive been accused of 5 fair pricing policy issues,I got a phone call from amazon asking me to tell them why I have the prices set as I do. I have had to send my supplier invoices, proof of cost, and ive broken down the referral fee amazon takes , taxes, and what profit we are left with on these items, Most are less than £3 profit with one only £1.60. Im at risk of deactivation because of this.
I have delisted hundreds of items myself from amazon as they keep going through my inventory and randomly saying my prices which have been set since the days I listed them over months or even years in some cases that they breach the fair pricing policy. I even had a pet first aid kit blocked what I have sold on amazon for 10 years under my own brand name what nobody else sells , because it has a hand sanitiser in it. I have appealed it and its been reinstated.
Its our lively hoods .
I submitted my appeal and its been transferred to SP so I have to wait but my account is still active at the minute. Not sure they will accept my few pounds profit as fair pricing. We are a business and need to make money to survive.

Something is broken in the “potential pricing error” department. I’ve been plagued by repeat inactivations for days, most often for a cd which has been the same price for two years, which is the only available copy anywhere. It only happens on de and es, not on fr or it, though they have their own problems. Try to fix it by using the min/max price, the max price keeps being changed by the system and then the item is deactivated again.

I suspect it’s the usual Amazon reactive response to a problem which causes unforeseen consequences. I’m lucky in that it really is just an irritant for me, but I feel for those of you who are harder hit than me.
