Set up as individual but got charged
Hi, I have found the sign up process to be horrific. All I wanted to do was sign up to sell some unwanted books as an individual and the process has been insane. But worse, even though at every stage I tried to tick the 'individual' option, I ended up seeing a charge of £36 going though my account. It seems not matter what you do, the process is so complicated that you end up being tricked into paying.
Anyone got any ideas how to get this back? I seemed (after a lot of searching) to manage to put my account down to an individual account but I never signed up (knowingly) to the business account in the first place.
Feeling utterly robbed.

The monthly fee has nothing to do with being either a private seller or a business - it just gives access to a variety of selling tools and removes part of the fees for selling each item.
To get a refund you just have to message Support and ask.

The Individual Seller ACCOUNT and the individual selling PLAN are totally different things. If you are simply selling off your own personal second-hand items then you can have the Individual ACCOUNT, but cannot list any items as NEW - if you do they will assume you are a business, and need to be registered as such with both Amazon and HMRC.
As soon as you click on the orange 'Sign Up' button they automatically take the £30 professional selling PLAN fee. (which in my opinion is wrong as at that point they do not make it clear that there are 2 plans). You need to downgrade your selling plan to individual by going to settings - account info - selling on Amazon your services - same again- then click on the individual button, then open a case with seller support and request a refund of unused fee.
