Buyer asked to cancel after we shipped

Hi we took an order for a projector in Sweden, we managed to throw into today’s courier collection but now the buyer wants to cancel.

It is travelling from our warehouse in China, and we may not be able to stop it
How to proceed here?

Thanks

Inform the buyer its already been shipped and on receipt , they’ll need to start a formal return request - point them toward the no longer required option
You then deal with the return in the normal way

I had this a few times post despatch, I suspect some buyers do it on purpose to try and get a free item hoping you will just refund.

Provided the item has actually been marked as despatched they can’t request a cancellation only email you to ask you to cancel. You can politely deny this and just tell them the item is on the way and if it is no longer required then to raise a return request.

For me most people who request a cancellation post despatch don’t bother to raise a return request and just keep the item.
