Claiming for missing stock from FBA USA

We have had a case open with Amazon USA for months which just appears to be going round and round in circles and getting nowhere for a box to FBA USA JOLIET that they received but then promptly went missing with no stock added to our inventory.

They keep asking for proof or postage, which we have and have provided, then proof of commercial invoice, packing slips etc etc which we have all provided but they keep telling us that these are not valid as they need the manufacturers original documents and we keep reminding them that WE ARE IN FACT, THE MANUFACTURER!

I suspect they are just trying to drive us insane so that we give up and don’t force them to reimburse us the £2000 the items are worth. But we are a small business and can’t afford to take the hit. we are now considering taking legal action and have told them so - has anyone had similar circumstances and actually managed to get them to cough up?
