I know that it was in many parts a myth - but it still shows the level of diligence that one needs to use when buying a product in for resale (regardless of the source)

if so are you going to get those test/certification documents in your company name,
who designed the item, does it have any patents
do you have product liability insurance?

just needed to read properly

If sold in the UK, it now needs a UKCA certificate and item must be labelled as such.
(if also sold in the EU, then you need CE and certificate and a EU official person to action anything)
You need the certificate in your name, not another Company. Many certificates are not worth the paper they are written on, get the full test performance, shows materials used, etc. Then check the test Company, real tests done?
Get insurance, needed for all items sold, etc

1.Inspected Factory in Far East, in person
2.Have CE and UKCA certification from Factory
3.Have test certificates and full results documentation showing product meets British safety standards.
4.Independently tested in British testing house
5.Applied RoHs status and WEEE status, if applicable labelled on product.
6.Fully insured.

Electrical item and alibaba shouldn’t be in the same sentence, unless you plan on burning someone’s house down. Just my opinion from when I used to source laptop adapters.
