Help! Had an adjustment of $235 for a return shipping label that only cost $4.

Hello. I had a 6oz stuffed animal (plush) returned to me because I inadvertently sent the customer the wrong color. The item was 6 oz and sent in a very small box and the same box was used to send it back to me. It cost me $4.68 to send the item to the customer and the return label which Amazon generated was used and the original return shipping cost deducted from my account was the same amount of $4.68. Yesterday I received an adjustment of $230 for this label! The dimensions that USPS audited the package as matched the exact dimensions used to calculate the original return label. Customer Entered Dimensions: 11 X 9 X 4 IN

Weight: 6 OZ

Carrier Audited Dimensions: 11 X 9 X 4 IN

Weight: 6 OZ

This is clearly a mistake and a VERY EXPENSIVE one.

For anyone that has successfully defended themselves against something like this before your advice as to the best way to handle this without spending endless hours chasing my tail and having panic attacks would be appreciated. Do I contact seller support? Open a Safe-T claim, contact USPS?

Thanks

Hello @Seller_aJh3Eq80eI1gn

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

I came across your thread and wanted to inquire whether you received resolution on your concern.

For reference, if the refund for the order was initiated by Amazon, you can file a SAFE-T Claim to request reimbursement. However, if you initiated the refund, then the order is not eligible for a SAFE-T Claim. In that case, I would suggest opening a case with our Support team for additional assistance. To open a claim with the carrier, please review this help page as it provides detail on optional coverage for loss or damage.
