Sole trader proof from HMRC

Hi,

Amazon are asking me to provide the following

“ If you are a Sole Trader

  • An explicit letter from HMRC (in your name) confirming the status as a sole trader or self-employed”

Does such a thing exist? I have a UTR number but can I just ring the taxman and ask for the above or is there anywhere I can generate one by logging onto my personal HMRC account - I have looked but cannot see anything.

Thanks!

If your new to being a sole trader, then you will have already received a letter with your UTR on.
That’s all you need. Otherwise, as per @The_Little_Shop post above.

It can take a couple of weeks or so to get the letter though.
