Scam Return and USPS Postage Due
Got an order (FBM), shipment due after a holiday, ship by the ship by date - 30 minutes after its scanned in the customer immediately starts a return for "Item arrived too late".... great, expecting the usual scam return.
USPS is now holding the return saying postage is due of $15.70, even though the customer was given the return label automatically.
Can I not pick this crap up? They are clearly trying some sort of return scam. I dont want to pay extra to get it back.
Or is it best to go and pay and then try to file a Safe-T claim?

Hey there @Seller_RBhUBoAVfCNRG- and thanks for the post. I don't think there is any way for a seller to pick up a return physically, but I do appreciate the bias for action!
It is true that return shipping cost may be the responsibility of the merchant in some cases. I would recommend reading through this help page on refunding shipping cost, along with this full list of return reason codes and how those would impact. I do see that 'Arrived too late' is assigned as a seller-responsible return reason.
Should the return arrive with any issues, you can reference this page on managing seller fulfilled returns to determine if a SAFE-T claim would be appropriate for you. Moving forward, you might also be interested in requesting SKU-level exemptions for pre-paid returns.
I also hope my comment drives some traction to this post so other sellers can weigh in on how they prefer to handle such scenarios!
Thanks again,
Danny
