Same product different UPC

I'm new to listing on FBA so I don't want to do something that would violate terms or get my account suspended which is why I'm asking about this. So I found a product sold at walmart, however when scanning it, no listings pop up on amazon. Searching the product brings up the exact product just different UPC. Would this mean I would need to list the product as a completely separate and new product on amazon, or do you just use the Amazon Label ?

That is a very good idea and that makes you different from many beginners.

So, take your time and go in your seller central, scroll down to “Learn”, click Seller University and watch all the videos. That will take 2-3 months. You are not ready to sell. Selling on Amazon needs a lot of learning. Read this forum daily, write keywords in the search bar in seller central and study the help pages that show up. Once you THINK having understood the basics come here again for specific questions. If you don't do all this, your account will be suspended without doubt soon or late.

Regarding your question: no, you cannot sell things bought from Walmart. Since there is NO listing on Amazon, there is a reason for. You need to contact the brand owner and ask a "Letter of Authorization" before listing on Amazon. But THIS answer is for experienced sellers. First follow the advice above.

@Seller_rI7BZIczK8iACis correct. VACATION MODE --- NOW!

If what you found is in a gated category you are one ASIN away from a permanent suspension on Amazon.

Forget all the TikTok and You Tube CR@# that you watched and study Seller U as she said for the next several weeks/months.

Here are the NEW rules for selling on the ‘new and improved’ Amazon:

The first question is -- Are you authorized IN WRITING by the BRAND to sell their items on Amazon? That means from the BRAND, not some random wholesale source that can NOT authorize anything – they only SELL.

More and more brands have provided a "whitelist" of their approved sellers and if YOU are NOT on the list you will be stopped in your tracks and probably hit with an IP violation.

The second (and probably more important) question is -- Where are you sourcing your products? Are you buying direct from the brand or through an AUTHORIZED wholesale source?

Have you verified with the BRAND that your distributor IS an authorized wholesale distributor for ALL of their products. Some wholesalers are only allowed to distribute portions of a product line.

NOTE – FOR 'GATED' CATEGORIES' DOING RA IS NOT PERMITTED ON AMAZON. PERIOD. If you have to 'apply to sell' you WILL need an INVOICE from an AUTHORIZED distributor and not a receipt.

Hello @Seller_e9vo3uzBPc1U5,

Michelle at Amazon here. First off, it sounds like you are new to the site so welcome! We are glad you are here!

I understand that you are asking if you can product sold at Walmart. @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC and @Seller_kIukTwdhvntAp have given you some great information. Regarding listing an item on Amazon, each ASIN must have it's own ASIN so if the UPC is not currently on Amazon, you would need to create a new ASIN. You can review the help page for Creating Listings One at a Time and Match Your Products which will provide you with some valuable information.

I would also review Seller University as this will provide you with all the information you need to sell on Amazon and be within policy. I am also going to provide you with this New Seller Community group that you may find helpful.

I hope you find this information helpful and I wish you the best!

Michelle
