UK Seller wanting to expand to US FBA

Hi - looking for some advice. I am a UK FBA seller looking to expand in to the US marketplace. How do I go about this as i am reading a few conflicting things - some say open a new US account and some say ‘Amazon Global Selling’ program.

I would like to use my same listing and asin for my listing there… would the barcodes be the same etc?

Also looking for some advice with regards to Tax, importing from China to US, is it the same process as from China to UK?

Others will know about tax and listings etc but you’ll need specialist insurance to sell imported goods from china in US
I believe Marsh are on amazons preference list , depending on what you sell, it could be quite costly .
