Partnership Verification Problems (not a limited company)

Hi all,

We have the same issue with a number of our Amazon Sellers. We are a "general partnership" not one limited by guarantee therefore no records with company's house. We have provided, VAT documentation from HMRC, invoices demonstrating our address of business and home address, ID in the forms of passport and driving license and our partnership agreement. Despite this information we have been asked to provide further details such as:

-- Provide evidence that you are physically operating your business from your provided address.

-- Provide a company registration extract or share allotment document from your local trade registry that lists all directors or partners of your company.

-- Provide documents that confirm the identity and place of residence of every director or partner who is listed in the company registration extract.

-- Provide evidence of any employees who reside in the country of your stated country of business establishment.

Amazon are current holding our disbursement and have been since the start of January which as you can imagine, is starting to cause cash flow issues.

We have rung the "Account Health Specialists" team multiple times but they are not aware of UK company set-up therefore repeat the same information and are at a lost of what to do.

Has anyone found a solution????????

General partnerships must register with Companies House before they can begin trading according to HMRC.

I am in the same situation apart from I can currently disburse. I've sold on Amazon for years and years and been verified a few times.

Usually for a general partnership, Amazon will accept the UTR confirmation letters for both partners and the partnership UTR but the current verification team seem to have forgotten this. I resent all my info with a brief explanation and the terms "Escalate" and "manually verify" and I finally got a little further. They replied thanking me for providing the documents and were reviewing them. This is the furthest I have got.

I have sent every conceivable document as evidence of my partners and my identity including my passport, partners drivers licence, landline bill in partners name, TV licence with direct debit schedule in my name, business bank statement, 3 supplier invoices in the partnerships name, energy bill in both partners names, council tax in both partners names and UTR letters. Plus I buy all my postage through Amazon using Royal Mail. Me and my partner have lived in the UK all our lives and have been at our current address for 10 years.

If they can't verify I operate from the UK with all that info the verification team really need to re-think their process as it clearly does not work.
