USPS APV Shipping Adjustment: Revenue Assurance ID needed
Amazon passed on shipping adjustments from USPS that are completely wrong (2 adjustments of over $100 each for packages below 2 lbs and shipped in small padded envelopes). We contacted USPS to dispute these, but they require a Revenue Assurance ID. Since we bought labels through Amazon Buy Shipping and the adjustment was communicated to Amazon, Amazon has that information, but does not share it with seller. As a result we cannot dispute these adjustments with USPS. Seller Support does not help but just restates what we know without doing anything.
Has anybody been able to dispute these adjustments, and how? Is there any option available other than not buying from Amazon Buy Shipping so that we can get Revenue Assurance IDs and deal with USPS directly?
Case IDs: 16057340431 (Order 114-1419649-3838656) and 16058686381 (111-4441566-0188236)
@KJ_Amazon how can we dispute these?
Thanks

Hello @Seller_UustF1XrcgPXx
Thanks for checking in about your recent carrier adjustments. I can't provide you with the Revenue Assurance ID you requested. Carrier adjustments for shipments sent using Amazon Buy Shipping must be submitted through Amazon support and can not be disputed directly with the carrier.
I checked that Case ID and the photos you included. I understand that you are disputing the carrier-audited shipment information, however the label information does not appear to be accurate. If you can share the actual dimensions of the package you shipped, I can request that our partner team review the dispute and escalate it if possible.

Hello @KJ_Amazon
Thank you for looking into it:
Case 16058686381 (Order 111-4441566-0188236):
The notes of the packer show that the package was 10 x 6.5 x 1.5 in, and 18 oz
To confirm the validity of the measurement, we packed half a dozen more packages (with same envelope and content). Depending on how the items are arranged in the envelope: the length varied between 8 and 10 inch, and the thickness between 1.5 and 2.0 inch. The weight of the packages varied between 17 and 18 oz. This confirmed that our records were correct. There is no way the package was over 20" long and 41 lbs.
Case 16057340431 (Order 114-1419649-3838656):
The notes of the packer show that the package was 12 x 7.5 x 1.5 in, and 18 oz
We also packed half a dozen more packages (same envelope and content). Depending on how the items are arranged in the envelope: the length varied between 10 and 12 inch, and the thickness between 1.5 and 2.5 inch. The weight of the packages varied between 18 and 20 oz. This confirmed that our records were correct. There is no way the package was over 24" long and 39 lbs.
Thank you for your help, we really appreciate it.

Thank you for that update with the Case and Order IDs.
Please note that the carrier-audited weight is the dimensional weight of the package and not the actual weight.
Order ID: 114-1419649-3838656 was a shipment that contained three items that were roughly five inches high and three/four inches thick, based on the photo you provided. It would be helpful for your dispute if you submitted a dispute request that showed the packaged shipment(s) with displayed dimensions.
Please let me know when you have submitted that information so I can include it for your dispute request. I can also open a direct case with you, if you prefer.

@KJ_Amazon,
Thanks for the recommendation. I see now that the picture I had posted in the case was misleading since the items are way closer to the camera than the measuring tape and the items look larger than actual.
Since the original case is closed, I've opened a new case: Case ID 16324357521 for Order ID 114-1419649-3838656, you will find pictures of the 3 items packed in the envelope, along with their measurement.
Thank you,
Nicolas

Hello @Seller_UustF1XrcgPXx I submitted those photos and other shipment details as part of your dispute.
I am happy to let you know that your dispute was successful and the adjustment will be reversed/ Please keep an eye out for that credit to your account, which may be processed as as "Other" transaction.

I suggest filing a complaint with the USPS Office of Inspector General. All shipping vendors & platforms are required to provide a Revenue Assurance ID to the purchaser of the label if an adjustment is made. Failure to do so is a violation of their contract with USPS for offering labels for sale. Amazon is not excluded from this requirement.
