You have to get authorization from the brand. That is the only way going forward. If you have been selling on the "Amazon approved me" platform, that is going out the window. Brands are now realizing their brands names are being abused and want to take back control.

It's not Amazon doing the gating on their own but rather Amazon at the behest of the brand owners.

The solution is pretty simple. Contact the brands, get a Letter of Authorization as well as another other terms, in writing, and have invoices in hand for when Amazon requests them. Without all of that, I certainly wouldn't chance this:

Amazon does not and will not hold your hand. It is up to you to obtain your products through the correct channels. It is up to you to do your own research and obtain a Letter of Authorization for the products you wish to sell. If you can't get one, don't sell that product. It is pretty simple really. Never ever trust Amazon alone to dictate what you sell. They will always approve you at first then deactivate you as soon as you get even one IP complaint. If you don't want to accept that answer and follow the rules, you will be deactivated. Any mod is going to tell you the exact same thing. Amazon is not going to change their policy on this because if they do, they will get sued repeatedly. Unfortunately, brands can become gated at any time. Every company has the right to dictate who can and cannot sell their products.

It's not a coincidence that it's happening now. Something changed for 1P brands over the summer that gives them more power to regulate resellers - IMHO it's likely the threat of regulator inquiries and/or major lawsuits. CeraVe, Nike, etc ... heavy hitters in retail and CPG. Amazon is going through listings weeding out 3P flippers to clear out FCs before Nov 1.

I'm sorry but what is this b-crap? Do you honestly think for 1 millisecond amazon cares about you or any request to make the platform benefit YOU? You're sadly mistaken if you think any meaningful change will come around that BENEFITS sellers. Have you not seen the writing on the wall? new fees, gating, inventory fees, slow check in time and on and on. Amazon doesn't don't want us here. They are slowly growing their empire using your/our selling data and won't be needing you much longer. With the new "Temu" like service their launching, smaller sellers of generic type items under $20 bucks are done, like done done in the next 24mons. The only thing that will force change is loss of market share to a new kid on the block which currently is temu/shein. Amzns plan to remedy that competition? Start a similar service direct from China. Do yourself a favor and please move onto other platforms and tread very carefully in these waters, they're too muddy these days.

The only thing that will force change is loss of market share to a new kid on the block which currently is temu/shein. Amzns plan to remedy that competition? Start a similar service direct from China. Do yourself a favor and please move onto other platforms and tread very carefully in these waters, they're too muddy these days.
