Move Account to another country
Hi.
My friend opened account in UK, but he is sole trader from Poland. He would prefer to have account on Polish Amazon. I asked support what to do and the answer was:
I understand that you’ve a selling account for UK and now you’d like to move it Poland. I can understand how important moving your account to Poland is as you have moved to Poland.
Please be advised that the home marketplace cannot be changed. Hence, the best way to go about this would be to close this current account and open a new one with home marketplace Poland. Otherwise, you would always have tax implications as well as shipping setting issues since the home marketplace is set in UK in the system.
Is it OK to close and open in Poland again? I wanted to ask, because I don’t trust Amazon Support.

No, your account simply can’t be moved.
If you close the account and open a new one, you are essentially opening a second account.
This will get flagged and possibly end up in you losing the ability to sell on Amazon completely.
The problem is, that the account you open is not just the UK, it is actually for all of the EU countries as well. But it should still be workable. Though you may have issues with VAT registration if your storing stock in Poland, even though you may be based there. Simply due to the account.
What I would suggest, is that you contact the MD’s team and get their advise first.

Surely then your friend already entered their Polish business registration and residential address as Poland anyway so they would just need to put uk on holiday settings and then sell through
Germany etc?
Therefore tax , ship from etc wouldn’t matter ?!
It would only be an issue if your friend had opened a UK ltd etc or put a uk address
