Royal Mail Click & Drop & Zebra GK420d printing issue

Hi

I have just taken delivery of a GK420d and just set it up.

I’ve tried printing and the 2d barcode is not as clear as when printing on my Inkjet Printer. I don’t want to send anything out using it atm because I’m not sure if it will scan.

Before ringing up Royal Mail tomorrow morning I was wondering if there is a setting i should be changing somewhere. I’ve set up Width and Dithering to “None”

I have attached a picture comparison between the two. The Zebra Printer is the top one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I use a 420 on my Mac.

As there are no drivers for the Mac you need to go to your web browser and go to http://localhost:631/admin.

From there, log in with the username and password as you log in to your computer.

At this point you may need to run a command from the terminal.

Once you’re into the web browser, Add a Printer as a ZPL printer with Media Size 4x6, Resolution 203dpi, Non-continuous Web Sensing, Direct Transfer Media.

I can see straight away you are printing from a Mac. The Zebra doesnt have a Mac driver so it doesnt print correct. You need to buy the Peninsular Labelling Software for the Mac.

https://www.peninsula-group.com/labeller-thermal-labelling-software/

Think its about £90 or so. Labels will be perfect once downloaded.
