We have opened endless cases reporting fraudulent sellers for adding hundreds of false reviews
Hi,
We have tried to report some fraudulent sellers for adding hundreds of false reviews on their listings for 7 months now.
Amazon mentions very clearly that encourages sellers to report any fraudulent activities on the Amazon platform and is also very clear that will take immediate actions to stop any fraudulent activities.
Unfortunately, none of the departments we got in contact with got involved enough to stop a clear case and confirmed many times fraudulent activities. Imagine that over 150 Amazon employees from different departments have checked our complaint and with all that none have been able to stop these fraudulent sellers from adding hundreds of reviews back within 1 hour after have been removed by their department.
As a company that values the integrity of the Amazon marketplace, we are deeply disappointed to see confirmed fraudulent activities being allowed to continue unchecked. We believe that these actions undermine the trust and credibility of the Amazon platform, and we are committed to combatting such fraudulent activities.
We have 140 cases opened with the brand registry directly.
We have opened cases with Amazon team leaders.
We have emailed Amazon’s Sellers Executive Department over 20 times. They allocated a person once to deal with the case. They removed those hundreds of false reviews and within 1 hour those sellers have been able to add those false reviews back.
We have also sent over 80 emails directly to Amazon’s specialized departments review-appeals@amazon.co.uk, product-appeals-reviews@amazon.co.uk, reviews-help@amazon.co.uk, community-help@amazon.co.uk; review-abuse-appeals-transfer@amazon.co.uk.
We have been reporting these fraudulent sellers for 7 months now and Amazon’s specialised DEPARTMENT ACTIONS ARE NOT ENOUGH. None of the Amazon employees in these specialised departments has been able to do more than just remove those false reviews for 1 hour or less.
These sellers launched their products late in 2022, yet they have reviews dating back to 2012, 2015, 216, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, all of which pertain to over 30 different products.
What are these fraudulent sellers doing on Amazon and reviews manipulation:
-
We report them for adding hundreds of false reviews representing different products
-
Amazon’s specialised department take action and remove their false reviews after they identified their fraudulent activity.
-
Then, these 2 sellers can DELETE ALL THE REVIEWS FROM THEIR LISTINGS COMPLETELY.
-
Within 1 hour or less can add hundreds of false reviews (300 up to 600 false reviews) representing other products. These sellers launched their products late in 2022(October – November 2022), yet they have reviews dating back to 2012, 2015, 216, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, all of which pertain to different products.
Amazon’s investigation department has identified this continuous fraudulent activity that these sellers are doing for 7 months now (over 140 cases opened by our company only) and with all that they are still allowing them to continue doing this fraudulent activity repeatedly.
How many times will Amazon allow them to continue doing these fraudulent activities until proper actions will be taken against them?
How many times do we have to report them to Amazon’s department to take more appropriate actions against these 2 fraudulent reviews manipulation?
It is very clear that Amazon’s specialised department does not take enough action, Amazon customers are losing trust because they are buying products from these sellers based on those false reviews and we as sellers are losing sales because of these individuals who are manipulating Amazon reviews system by adding hundreds of false reviews.
I cannot believe that Amazon is not able to stop these from doing these fraudulent activities. Probably these sellers should be banned from selling on Amazon considering that for over 7 months they have continuously broken Amazon rules.
We really do not see why these sellers have been allowed so many times to do these fraudulent activities without and why they are not stopped for this.
This is a real disappointment because we have to compete against fraudulent sellers who can add at any time thousands of reviews to their listings and customers are misled by them by trusting the reviews shown ( score rating ). Rather than seeing their real score rating as 3.5 from 5 stars. Customers are seeing 4.6 from 5 stars.
We want Amazon to take strong action against these sellers and remove all their false reviews to protect genuine customers from falling victim to these deceitful tactics.
At this point we really tried all the options we knew but without any success, unfortunately.

There was a programme investigating this not that long - maybe Channel 4 despatches or something similar ?!
Google it and get in touch and say nothings changed

Hi,
We are not aware of this but it is clear that these 2 sellers have a different treatment and Amazon’s rules don’t apply to them.
On top of what I have previously mentioned about hundreds of false reviews added to their listings representing over 30 different products, we suspect that they are using some paid groups of reviewers in exchange for free products.
When they first started to sell these products in the first 10 days they were having over 50 reviews of 5 stars only, all with images and how brilliant are the products etc.
The moment we realised that those reviews were not genuine is when one of their reviews had comments about our brand:
- they copied word by word a review from one of our listings and one of their “customers” posted the same title and review description on their listing:
! I read a few reviews of other ones and wasn’t very impressed – and then I came across this one! The quality is excellent and I’m genuinely impressed by the follow up from “HERE WAS OUR BRAND NAME RATHER THAN THEIR BRAND NAME” since my initial purchase. Worth spending money… - We have been able to identify over 15 reviews copy-pasted word by word from different other listings too.
- different “customer” reviews but with the same identical images uploaded in the review.
All these reviews have been pushed to cover the first 3 review pages, then followed by real reviews ( mainly 1 and 2 stars ) then after followed by over 500 reviews coming from over 30 different products.
-
90% OF THE REVIEWS REPRESENT DIFFERENT PRODUCTS
-
5% OF THE REVIEWS ARE ACTUALLY REAL WITH 1- AND 2-STARS RATINGS
-
5% OF THE REVIEWS ARE ACTUALLY REVIEWS THAT WE SUSPECT ARE COMING FROM PAID REVIEWS FROM DIFFERENT GROUPS OF REVIEWERS. THE REASON WE ARE SAYING THIS IS BECAUSE THOSE ARE ONLY 5 STARS REVIEWS, ALL WITH IMAGES, ALL OF WHICH HAVE BEEN POSTED IN THE FIRST WEEK AFTER LAUNCHING THEIR PRODUCT. WE SUSPECT THAT THEY HAVE MADE THIS JUST TO COVER THE FIRST 2 - 3 PAGES WITH 5-STAR REVIEWS ONLY. FOLLOWED BY THOUSANDS OF FALSE REVIEWS REPRESENTING OTHER PRODUCTS. ALL THESE FALSE REVIEWS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COVER ALL THE REAL REVIEWS WHICH YOU WILL SEE THAT MOST OF THEM ARE 1 AND 2 STARS AND ALL WITH COMMENTS: MISLEADING ADVERT.
The same identical thing they made in Germany 1700 reviews, France and Spain.
We suspect that in some countries they have more reviews than products sold.
In the UK they are probably on 2/3. Meaning every 3 purchases 2 customers left a review.
Absolutely crazy but this is the reality and some of the sellers we have to compete with.
I imagine that it wasn’t just us who made complaints but also other sellers like ourselves or even customers. We estimate over 400 complaints at least.
