Late shipment rate, none correlating ship dates
Good evening everyone.....i have been noticing the "ship by xx date to avoid late shipment" flag in the order list, is not congruent with the ship date in the actual order page... which has resulted in our account LSR jumping to 7%+.. and this is only because the confirmation was deemed late, but the ACTUAL package shipped on time, as evidenced by the tracking info... Why does amazon not look at the actual data on the tracking page of vs. when a seller "confirms" the order.. its absurd.. example.
FROM Order page .
Order details Order ID: # 111-6416610-8006663
Ship by: Mon, Mar 11, 2024
Deliver by: Thu, Mar 14, 2024 to Mon, Mar 18, 2024
Purchase date: Sat, Mar 9, 2024, 12:12 PM PST
From order LIST:
Unshipped (1)
Confirm as shipped by 3/12/2024 to avoid late-shipment
The DATE Is wrong!!, so if you ship in the 12th its LATE, per the order page. saying it must be shipped by the 11th... This is so absurd .and has pushed our metrics into the red, this even as we ship over 300 orders a MONTH!

@Seller_KcEtz9Bkb8qhY Why are these ship by dates different?
Thanks for raising this issue. Other sellers are discussing that same question in the above thread.
I raised this question to our partner teams. At this time you should consider those to be showing the same information.
You need to ship the order by the end of March 11.
You need to confirm shipment by March 12 to avoid Late Shipment metrics penalties. This will only be needed if you purchase shipping outside of Amazon Buy Shipping, which automatically confirms the shipment.

There were several posts about this already.
Amazon enabled "automatic order time handling" for all, even for the accounts were it was disabled. You should disable it (Settings - Shipping Settings - General Shipping Settings - Automated handling time"
You might also consider calling account health specialist and explaining the situation, that should prevent account deactivation if it comes to that.
As for removing late shipping strikes and talking to Seller "Support" - they will feed you also sorts of BS (like telling you that your secondary users did this, accusing you of enabling the settings and not admitting that and so on.

On the Canned Reponse by KJ - this is concerning...
" This will only be needed if you purchase shipping outside of Amazon Buy Shipping, which automatically confirms the shipment." -- Am pretty sure (BUY SHIPPING THRU AMAZON ONLY) is another Anti-Competitive action, especially since Amazon uses the very same shipping service for thet last mile, you know the difficult ones. How can they say your tracking thru USPS is not valid unless you buy it from us? - Did Amazon buy the United States Postal Service?
@Seller_YvPJcV8cv0Kiu I did not write that USPS tracking is not valid unless it is purchased through Amazon Buy Shipping. That is not accurate. You are welcome to purchase shipping outside of Amazon Buy Shipping as long as the service meets the shipping promise.
After you receive an order notification and ship the order, you must confirm shipment of the order.
If you purchase shipping through Buy Shipping Services, you do not need to confirm shipment since this is done automatically.

So, you are saying if a seller uses Amazon Buy Shipping (a seller) doesnt need to worry if there is a glitch in the scanning software of UPS, USPS or Fedex. Is that correct?
If you purchase Amazon's Buy Shipping and ship on time, you are protected against claims where a customer reports problems with delivery.
Whether an order was shipped on time is not based on when you purchased shipping through Amazon Buy Shipping or manually confirmed an order. Confirming shipment of the order is not the same thing as actually shipping it.

Hello @Seller_KcEtz9Bkb8qhY. The Ship-By date is the date by when you must ship the order. If you are manually confirming shipments, this must be done by the "Confirmed as shipped by" date.
Both of these must be completed to avoid Late Shipment metric penalties.
It is important to confirm the shipment of orders by the expected ship date so that customers can see the status of their shipped orders online. Orders that are ship confirmed late may negatively impact customer experience and lead to increased claims, negative feedback or customer contacts, or both.
