Unreasonable UPS Carrier Adjustment Fee of $1500+ for a 39.95 item
I charged my customer a $11.9 shipping fee for a $40 item and UPS later charged my c.c. an additional $1537 adjustment fee. WTH. The item was less than 2 lbs.
After sending them photos of the shipping box measurements and weight, they still denied the claim. This is ridiculous!! I am devastated :( I am so mad, I feel like suing UPS.

So UPS charged your card directly, you didn't purchase the label through Amazon? If you purchased it directly from UPS, you should be able to successfully dispute it I would think. They normally have to have hard proof to maintain an additional charge like that. It sounds like they hit you with an over maximum surcharge. If they charged your card directly, I suppose you could always do a chargeback.

obviously you didn't use Amazon Buy Shipping.
If they charged you $1537 for a 2lb item immediately contact your card company dispute the charge and open a chargeback.
Before I used amazon buy shipping a few years ago UPS was notoriously overcharging me.
Now I use Buy Shipping exclusively.
Also for a 2lb item USPS ground advantage or Priority mail might be better.
Good Luck

Hello, @Seller_AJJyx3XNWPkTA. (Or should that be 'greetings'?)
Thank you for that message about that carrier adjustment. It would help to have more specific details to see what the next steps might be.
@Seller_DdmPiA1p1S2Wu asked an important question: was this a shipment purchased through Amazon Buy Shipping, or was the shipment and adjustment processed through Amazon?
It also could matter whether the shipment was for the outbound or return, as well as the package size, but let's start with the platform.

File a chargeback. It's as simple as that. If the measurement pictures are in your favor, submit those along with a copy of UPS policy.

UPS charges adjustments on just about every single package. You also get charged, check your Amazon periodic statements. UPS using lasers to measure the box and they constantly add an inch or 2 resulting in additional charges. Not surprised they are trying to charge you this outlandish adjustment, they need to recoup the money from their horrendous labor agreement.

For people shipping through Amazon using UPS, how do you insure your pacakges? U-Pic told me UPS packages shipped through Amazon are NOT insured. Is this true, or is there a way to insure UPS packages through Amazon? I had a shipment that was damaged and now use pirate ship for UPS packages as they are insured up to $100. Now even USPS packages are not insured through U-Pic when shipped through Amazon. Not sure if people know, but when USPS ground started, Amazon cancelled their agreement with U-Pic. I see no good reason to use Amazon shipping now as nothing is insured, and it's twice as hard to file a claim through USPS because Amazon removes the buyers address after ya ship iyem, and ya need the address on USPS in order to file a claim. Amazon refused to give me a buyers address for a claim for "security reasons"????? Ridiculous.

UPS is engaging in criminal behavior now that they have this "free for all" contract with Amazon. We don't use UPS any more and never will.

I just made a case because I got /adjusted via amazon for $7.60 on a DHL international ship. I sent a 3.5lb package and they said it was 7 lb wth? Someone messed up and it wasn't me, this book and packaging is always under 4 lb with the same size box dimensions.
FYI last year I had an adjustment on a media rate shipment because the box was 2" wider than the box I usually used, because now usps is charging by the size as well as the weight, which was not the case previously. After that happened I made sure to measure the box dimensions everytime I ship.
