Incorrect Business Type Selected During Registration

My friend was helping me to create an Amazon seller account today. My business is a Private Limited Company (Ltd) but I have found out that my friend incorrectly selected Sole Proprietor as the business type during registration. The account was only made today and I have not listed any items. In fact I believe my account is still being verified as they asked for a bill with my name and address which I have sent.

As my account is very new and my business type hasn’t actually changed in real life but rather just the incorrect type was selected during registration, I’m hoping that the business type can be easily/quickly changed to Ltd without issues. I tried going to Settings --> Business Information --> Identity Information to see if I can change it but there is no option to change it. And if I go to Settings --> Business Information --> Transfer Account, it says “Please perform a disbursement to your bank account to be eligible for legal entity change. It may take upto 3 days for a successful disbursement to reflect in our records.”

I have emailed seller-verification-enquiry@amazon.co.uk but while I wait, what do you guys think? I’m hoping that it won’t take long to be changed and my account won’t be suspended in the meanwhile because I’ve read some threads where people had to wait for a while for the change to happen, even months.

I would really try and push the verification team with the need to set the correct business type now, before you go any further, since from what I have seen on the forums doing so after the fact can, as you say, take months, maybe even as long as a year.
Ask them to enable the edit facility so that you can correct the error.
