ASIN Gated After FBA Shipment Sent – Seeking Advice
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone can shed light on a frustrating situation I’ve run into.
Recently, I listed two ASINs for FBA. Everything was smooth—no selling restrictions, and I was able to send a shipment of these two ASINs to the warehouse. But the very next day, when I went to list and ship two additional ASINs from the same product category, I noticed a problem. Overnight, the original ASINs I listed became inactive because they now require approval to sell, and Amazon is currently not accepting applications.
So now, I have inventory sitting in FBA that I’m gated from selling. To add to the frustration, I’ve sold this exact brand in different variations before without any issues, and there are still other sellers actively listing and selling these items.
I’ve contacted Seller Support, but all I get are copy-paste responses like, “We aren’t accepting applications at this time.” That doesn’t address the core issue:
How can Amazon approve a shipment, then gate the item mid-shipment?
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of situation, and what steps did you take to resolve it?
This feels incredibly unfair, and I’d appreciate any advice or insight. Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm not sure if i can say the brand but they are Coffee Mugs - nothing crazy!

This gating problem happened to me twice in December. I was ungated, then overnight without warning got gated with a standard 10 unit invoice requirement. Fortunately for me, I had acquired my products but had not yet sent them out to FBA. It is a real problem, you are not alone.
If we have been ungated, notification should be sent out before we get gated so we make appropriate business decisions on our end.
I was able to provide an invoice for 1 item, but had not even bought 10 of the other so I was out-of-luck.
