Brand Approval newly required and immediately rejected

Received a noticed this morning that we are required to reapply for Brand Approval for a specific brand we have been selling on Amazon since 2020. We have been approved previously. We are an authorized seller and buy directly from the brand. We submitted the requested invoice which meet all the requirements listed. It was rejected within seconds. So assuming a human did not look at it.

We then followed the instructions to appeal. And are waiting.

The notice arrived on 8/2 and said we had one day to get approval before our listings would be deactivated and our FBA inventory stranded. We have a significant amount of money invested in this inventory. It is hard to imagine how we can survive if all of our listings come off line for a significant length of time.

We have been an Amazon seller since 2006 with millions of dollars of sales on the site each year. We have never faced anything like this. Hoping that a mod can help guide us to a resolution. Our case number is 15757771141

Thanks so much.

"Received a noticed this morning that we are required to reapply for Brand Approval for a specific brand we have been selling on Amazon since 2020. "

Amazon continues to tighten the screws!

You need to get an LOA from the brand specifically stating that you are authorized to sell on Amazon.

ALSO --

Is it POSSIBLE that the brand has sent Amazon a "whitelist" of approved sellers and did not have you on it?

More and more brands are providing such a "whitelist" of their approved sellers and if YOU are NOT on the list you will be stopped in your tracks and probably hit with an IP violation.

I had one of my brands stop me because they CHANGED the company they hired to screen sellers. The NEW screener did not recognize my Amazon store name because I do all my purchases under a different LLC. It took a couple weeks to get straightened out and no problems since then.

Hoping a mod can take a look at our case and help. We have been selling on Amazon for 18 years with a 1,000 account health rating. We spoke with the brand yesterday about what is happening. They said that sending an invoice should be sufficient for the additional approval requirement. At first we were concerned about a change coming from them as to Amazon sales policies but after speaking to them, that is not the case.

We sent everything that Amazon requested and met all the requirements. No issue taking those steps I think it keeps bad actors off the site. However, the case suggests it may take a week for a decision. Which we just don't understand. We have been selling this brand with approval for years. And have an enormous amount of inventory both in our warehouse and at FBA. We have employees that work specifically with this product. And now they don't have any work to do. This limbo state is starving our business of revenue needed to operate and affecting our employees ability to work and earn.

Any help and insight from a mod would be very much appreciated.

Depending on how large the brand is, it may be best to contact them directly. As a brand rights administrator I have the ability to authorize other sellers in the marketplace and designate their levels of authorization. If it is a large brand you may not be able to find the rights administrator but if it is a small to medium sized company it may be possible.

The instant rejection on the first attempt is an Amazon bug. just resubmit the same information and see what happens.

Good Luck

I’m going through the same thing. Amazon want us sellers to be on the platform and make money but we make money by selling other brands. Imagine we we can’t sell brands Amazon will loose a lot of money and that’s a fact. I’m starting to see people make generic listing because of this and many get away with it.
