FBA sending from GB to Ireland

Two questions arise for me:

  1. If Amazon can do this to Ireland which is in the EU from my FBA stock (LBA2) then why can’t they do it for DE, FR etc?

  2. Amazon say everything has to go DDP if FBM but in this FBA scenario Amazon is removing 20% from my sale, providing an invoice with 0% VAT charged to the customer but then what are they doing about DDP?

Correct pending wouldn’t count…
But Amazon will probably have done the customs stuff and covered duties/costs for any “pending” orders that were placed before Jan 1st just to keep the customers happy. Even if they came out of pending after this date.

It’s very possible that your orders are being placed via the Amazon global shipping program as
The_Little_Shop was asking about.
From seller central hover over settings and click “fulfillment by Amazon” near the bottom of the list, from there scroll down to near the bottom and there is a list of countries under shipping and export that you have FBA enabled in, click “edit” next to .co.uk.
From that page you should be able to see if global shipping is enabled.
With global shipping orders the customer orders from the .co.uk website, as such they are responsible for paying the import duties/costs (though I guess Amazon still does the paperwork), this applies to countries in EU as well as pretty much every other country too… even Antarctica is included.

Yes they are enabled for all that are available, fr, nl, uk, de, es, it

That makes sense then the equivalent of Ebay & GSP, that also explains why there are other orders from hk, mt, cy.
I just used an incognito tab and can see my products are available to wherever land but as my settings for FBM are on holiday they are only available from FBA, I see, plus there is a reference to importing it from the UK:

Please Note: Price shown includes UK VAT. If your shipping address is outside UK, VAT may vary or an import fee deposit may be collected at checkout.

This whole situation intrigues me as well. I have the export enabled from the UK, and even i have seen my stock getting shipped to Dublin with VAT 0 rated. So far, there have been 3 cases in the last 2 weeks (Feb 2021).
Now, as a Fixed rate VAT business, I am yet to learn the challenge. Obviously, I am a little worse off on each order, as I pay only 7.5% VAT of the sales amount to the HMRC and the rest of the VAT goes in balancing the VAT I have paid to other expenses.

Unlike other EU countries, there is no way to create a different pricing structure for Ireland, and the customers fro Ireland are paying probably in GBP rather than EUR.

Hi

I have been looking at this and the FBA t&c and still need some advice. We have a lot of the sales going abroad with 0% VAT to EU and rest of world as we must have the FBA export still enabled.

What I cannot find out is what I have to do about this as we are VAT registered in Uk only:

You are solely responsible for the calculation, invoicing, reporting and payment of all duties, taxes, surveys or other deductions, as well as any necessary Intrastat declarations.

What declarations are now required? Is Amazon acting as my intermediary?

Thanks
