This is a violation of amazon’s policies. I wouldn’t recommend doing it as the risk of being caught seriously out way the potential additional sales.
That doesn’t mean that other sellers aren’t doing this type of thing but I haven’t bothered risking it.

Good luck if you give it a try though !

Yes it can result in suspension or the removal of selling privileges.
Here are the guidelines regarding Prohibited Seller Activities and Actions.
Look under “Attempts to divert transactions or buyers.”

PS I’m not wishing you good luck, as you shouldn’t do it!

I bought something I needed as an emergency mid December. They put in an A5 size leaflet telling me to go to their website to receive 10% off. Nothing really happened, I complained to them as well as Amazon no one really did anything.

My complaint was regarding misuse and violation of the policies where you are not allowed to redirect customers away from the Amazon site.

I complained to Amazon first and took pictures and attached them too. They did not understand me at all, one of the support staff told me “so you want to advertise, let me sign you up to a a sponsored ads webinar”.

So I just gave up and closed the live chat.

Why does anyone think its OK for sellers to drive customers away from Amazon. You were right to complain, what is wrong is Amazon did nothing about it.

OK just a question but i thought it was ok to have packaging with your website or brandname on the package…I guess the difference is emailing them or directly ststing they should shop directly on the website

What about contact details for technical support? Not trying to take sales away from Amazon but if there are any issues it is resolved quicker and easier over a phone call/email rather than raising a return case. Or in a FBM Prime order where a return is automatically accepted it could have been resolved with out occurring the return costs.
