Business Accounting
Hi all.
What’s the best way to keep on top of the accounting. My sales are slowly moving and I’m trying to make this work, however, I need to work on the admin side of things.
What software works best for FBA, or does anyone have any accounting spreadsheets recommendations. Do people use Gig accountants like on FIVERR or such and is it best to hire someone as an ecommerce accountant.
Any advice grately appreciated.

It really depends on your requirements / sales volumes. It’s always best to speak with an accountant, especially if you’re planning on / already are over £85k (vat threshold). If you want some simple software to keep your house in order, i’d recommend Link My Books & Xero (however some accountants will give you access to these as part of your package if you sign up with them).

To be honest, finding and paying someone on Fiverr, is probably slightly cheaper than employing a proper accountant.
At the end of the day, there are far more advantages to this. Even things such as being able to physically meet and talk with the accountant, is vastly superior, to someone is purely online.
An accountant can guide you properly, and help you avoid the major pitfalls.
And it’s virtually guaranteed, that if you engage a good one, they will probably save you as much money, as they cost.
For the actual accounts, I would also recommend Xero with LMB’s. It takes literally a couple of minutes day to do the accounts.

Thank you all. £85K is a bit far away yet, I’m simply closer to the starting line, but want to adopt good financial behaviours to have a better insight as well looking to make some money to live on.
