Amazon Product Reviews Regime
Amazon reviews help buyers in making informed decision, specially once reviews are closely watched and authenticated by Amazon. These reviews are also helpful for sellers. It is, however being felt that tendency amongst buyers is on decline for writing product review, for obvious reasons of busy life and time availability. Resultantly reviews in some cases do not represent the product or service accurately.
Reason: if a buyer is not happy with the product or seller he is more likely to write a review, but if a buyer is satisfied with the product/seller there are 99 % chances that buyer will not write the review. Now what happens is that the reviews do not represent majority of buyers and is causing stress amongst the sellers who are always worried about one odd negative feedback for any reason. Buyer also do not get wholesome picture of the product/service or seller.
It is therefore suggested that Amazon may consider giving some positive credit to product/seller if a buyer does not write a review, for obvious reasons that buyers were satisfied that's why they not bother to leave a review. This will reflect true standing of the seller and the product/service. Because if a seller has sold 100 items and 99 buyers did not write a review as they were happy with the product but one buyer had issues and he wrote negative review; then future customers have no visibility of those 99 % but only see that 1% as 100 %.
With Reviews and stars tab Amazon may add another tab showing, number of happy customers, for example 324 Happy Customers.
This figure (324 in this example) shall include those customers who wrote positive review and those who did not write a review.

Royal - thank you for sharing your honest take. Curious to hear what other sellers think too.
