Got charged the temporary account approval payment and a 19p subscription charge with Individual account!?

I’m totally new to the Amazon Seller Central and I’m totally not impressed…

Before anyone asking, I’m on Amazon individual account.
Untitled

Firstly, I’ve been told to make 7 or 8 small payment to the UK sellercentral and the rest of the EU seller centrals (like £1, 1 euro, 1 swedish krona etc so about 6GBP in total. There is a note stating the small charge is temporary and will be refunded, but after a few days the amount has not been refunded back to my account.

Secondly, I’m pretty sure I’m on Amazon individual seller account. Just within 24hrs of setting up the account I got charged 19p subscription fee out of nowhere, and I haven’t even placed any listings yet!?
Untitled

Customer service is totally abysmal and provide irrelevant information only.

Is anyone on the same boat? Thought Amazon will give me a bit of hope I think I’m gonna stick with eBay now.

I can’t comment on your fees to other countries, sounds like you signed up for a global account.

You may have signed up for an individual account (which just to be clear, is only for people selling items that are their own personal items that they no longer require, like books they have read etc), but if you have been charged £25 + Vat (£30 as I’m assuming as a non business you aren’t vat registered  ) (I’m assuming they didn’t actually charge you 25p? if it was 25p I have no idea what that was for) then you have obviously signed up for the Professional Selling Plan.

The Selling Plans and Account Types are completely separate from each other, and any Account Type can be on either Selling Plan

Prepare for this to continue.

They are just authorisations, they never actually get charged. They’ll fall off soon, be patient.

Seller Support is renowned for being awful and mostly run by badly programmed bots. Always try the help documents first then the forum.

Yes! Everyone.

The financial return on Amazon can be a lot more than ebay if you stick with it and put up with the daily issues and moving goalposts.

So, if you do mean the Individual ACCOUNT then you can only sell off your own personal second-hand items and not new goods, and as your names suggests that is not what you want to do.
If you intend to sell new goods then you need a BUSINESS seller account, and be registered with HMRC as self-employed.
If you mean the Individual Seller PLAN then you will be charged an additional 90p per sale, but not the monthly Pro. plan fee of £30.
