How to sell self-published hardcover book with GTIN

I am an author and have a Kindle version of my book on Amazon, but I want to sell a hardcover version that I had printed with IngramSpark. IngramSpark provided an ISBN of their own to the book, which is apparently not recognized by Amazon to list. So I got a GTIN number for it. Still, I seem unable to add the product to sell, as I keep getting asked to prove ownership of the GTIN, even though I keep uploading the document, screenshots of the book, and screenshots of the printing screen from IngramSpark. Still, I seem unable to sell, and it is not clear to me what more I need to provide that I have not already submitted.

Hello @Seller_Tu8RjrBZdnHT2,

Michelle at Amazon here. First off, congrats on your book. Is your UPC registered with GS1.org? If not, our system will not recognize it. If you recently purchased it, it may take some time for it to update in our system. if you are having issues, please send me your Seller Support case ID.

You may be interested in looking into Author Central to see if that is a way that you would like to have your book listed on Amazon.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Michelle

IngramSpark hardcover books can be distributed on Amazon. Make sure you have set up your IngramSpark account to do this. Do not try to list it separately through Amazon Seller Central, which is not set up for new books.

If the book is not showing up on Amazon even if you have set it up on Ingram, contact Ingram to troublehsoot, not Amazon.

The advice given earlier about GS1 is wrong and not relevant. GS1 issues UPCs, not ISBNs. ISBNs are issued by Bowker in the U.S., or by publishing partners such as Ingram or Amazon KDP.
