How long after a Seller Authorises a refund, does it take for Amazon to refund the Buyer?
I am aware it shows on Amazon, to allow up to 1 week, BUT, it used to be most were refunded within a few hours with both the Seller and Buyer getting emails to confirm details.
However, over the last few weeks, many have been taking several days. Are other Sellers finding the same?
We have to question why are Amazon wanting to hold onto so much money, with the delayed payments to Sellers and now even delayed refunds to their all so precious Buyers, who are rightly annoyed, does the loss making Amazon have problems?
Buyers are rightly emailing into us, asking where is their refund, thinking it is us as the Seller delaying matters. Most do not realise, Sellers Authorise a refund, and Amazon process the refund, many days later.
Just had a customer now, asking where is their refund. The Buyer returned an unwanted item, received back on 17 October, we authorised a refund 18 October around 4am (so less than 24 hours with us, not even 1 complete working day), but, the Buyer has still not been refunded, it is now 22 October.
We have had 3 bad feedbacks in the recent few weeks, I am sure all unhappy that they did not get their refunds quickly. 2 of which were SFP, and we kept telling the Buyers to contact Amazon Customer Services to chase them for their refunds. One kept harrassing us to get on with the refund, blaming us, as they obviously did not think Amazon would not refund them, and it was us not refunding them.
Amazon at least 'should' (but won't) send the Buyer a message as soon as a Seller authorises a refund, or a partial refund, to say the Seller has updated them regarding a return, and to await Amazon's part of the process to issue a refund.
Perhaps as soon as we refund a Buyer we need to screenshot and email the Buyer, so they know Amazon is to blame?
