Product listing deleted due to Children's toys compliance!!!
discussion.Hi,
I've been selling an oil absorbing sponge for hot tub, for a few years on amazon, and now that I created a new listing to sell it as FBM, This listing was stranded due to KIDS TOYS COMPLIANCE DOCUMENTS.
Everyday something new from amazon making me regret more and more starting this business. Just wasting my hard earned money and time here.
It's just a sponge not a toy.

Hello @Seller_uQ2G2u8oyIGd6,
Thank you for reaching out through the Forums. I hear your concerns about the compliance requirements.
I want to provide some information that may help with a greater understanding of the compliance requirements. Please review this information: Children’s toys - this information applies to selling in Canada. Thank you for providing the ASIN, the team and I were able to review your listing in detail.
What I see is the product name tells us this is for Adults and Kids. In one of the bullet points it says: SUPREME FUN FOR KIDS & IDEAL GIFT FOR HOT TUB OWNERS TOO. In the product description it includes: Perfect for both kids' playtime and enhancing your relaxation haven's visual appeal.
With all of this information, it really looks as if it is more than a sponge. The listing is describing a kids playtime toy and falls within the Children's toys policy:
Toys are determined to be children’s toys based on the following criteria:
- Age grading on the product packaging is intended for use by a child 13 years of age or younger.
- Product is represented in its packaging, display, promotion or advertising as appropriate for use by a child 13 years of age or younger.
- Product is commonly recognized by consumers as being intended for use by a child 13 years of age or younger.
After reviewing the listing and the images, it definitely falls into this category and will require testing as explained in the policy. If you choose to follow through with the testing, please make sure to use our Service Provider Network when selecting a testing facility.
To dispute this, you would require an explanation about why you believe the product has been misclassified. Also evidence that demonstrates that the products have been misclassified.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear. I'm hoping this will provide you with a greater understanding of the compliance policy requirements in Canada.
Thank you for reaching out on the Forums. The Forums and I are here to support you.
