Policy Compliance

Hello,
I have a policy violation issue. I do not have ANY open listing on AMAZON UK account.
I have deleted all of my listings since am working on AMAZON US. Still I receive this warning (pic1).

I have contacted AMAZON HELP but with no result. They want me to send the following:
– The root cause(s) of the Product Attribute Abuse violation.
– The actions you have taken to resolve the policy violation.
– The steps you have taken to prevent this violation in the future.

I do not even know what policy violation is all about since I do not have OPEN listings on AMAZON UK.
Can someone help me?

You can’t see the problem?
I can see several policy violations in your description.
Violation 1. the item is Generic Unbranded, this means that ANY seller can sell on this listing and you have created the description to be all about you and what YOU offer.
If another seller comes along and wants to sell on this ASIN, they may not want to offer a free gift box or any of the other things you have put in the description that describes YOUR business and not theirs.
Violation 2. You have in the description telling people to go to a 3rd party site (Youtube)
Violation 3. You have put personal information in your description about your business being a 5 star business,(other sellers on this ASIN may not have that claim and you may not either if you get left bad reviews)
Violation 4. you have made reference about a guarantee (you have no right to offer this on a generic listing as you do not represent all sellers on this listing)

You need to remove all of these references to YOUR business and what YOU offer and keep to the GENERIC UNBRANDED listing policy.
I would suggest taking most of the content out of your description and bullet points and keeping it to description of the item only.
Any references of WE only use, is viewed as that, YOU only use and other sellers may not.
Take out the following information…
We use only HIGH QUALITY materials and offer guarantee on our necklaces. We are a 5-Star Seller. Check our reviews and see what our customers say about us! Feel free to ask for more details! Dont wait! Contact Us!

  • There are plenty of YOUTUBE videos OR
    Gifts:

If certain pieces are intended as gifts, please leave us a note in the message box when you check out… that way we can include a gift box for you. In any case all items will be gift-wrapped in a craft box.

By removing the above content, this should make the listing compliant (unless anyone else spots something extra?)

What do you mean by OPEN listings ?

You can get a policy violation by simply listing an item with zero stock

The policy violation is dated from July so if you had listings back in July, it will one of them

Product attributes are the details, ie material, weight, dimensions etc

As @ The_Little_Shop has already said… You cannot deal with a violation so easily if you have deleted the listing.
When you get a violation, this will stick with your account until you deal with it in the way that Amazon want you to deal with it, in this case, a plan of action with root causes.
Deleting the listing does NOT make the violation go away, in fact it makes it a whole lot worse for you, as you can now no longer get any help from seller support because they do not see the listing in your inventory and will reply to you with a cut and paste response.(as you have found out)
The ONLY way you can deal with this issue is go back through your performance notifications and find the item that caused this violation and then send an email directly to seller performance or pressing the “appeal” button with the requested information in the hope that they accept your POA.
From what i can see from the limited information you have given, this is a violation of keywords in the listing.
This can simply be where you have violated policy by putting in personal or specific information that is specialised to only you… examples… “comes with a free bag” or “please leave me positive feedback !!”
It “could” also be where you have listed by EAN on a pre-existing ASIN where the original author of the ASIN creation created keywords that you were unaware of and you are getting the pain of someone else’s mistake unknowingly (which happens a LOT)
You can only help yourself by finding the ASIN you deleted and address the issue that Amazon are asking for in a POA.
If you WAS the author of the ASIN, then you need to come clean to Amazon and tell them the mistake you made and make reference to the policy over ASIN creation and let them know you have read it fully and now understand your mistake and it will not happen again.
They may or may not accept this and may again ask for further information.

Here is a sample of my listings with issues.

Take for example my listing with ASIN B0B8T7BHS7 Here is the amazon listing for it.

I do not see a problem. I ve checked product description, keywords…nothing!

Can you understand what is wrong with it?

This is not like eBay.
When you make a generic listing, Amazon own the listing in their catalogue, not you.
Anyone can list on a catalogue listing if they are eligible and a catalogue entry does not belong to one specific business, unless the listing is brand protected and created under a brands identity.
Your listings are generic and therefore anyone that has the same item that matches the listing can sell it using the listing that you created.
Just because you were the first to create the listing does not give you exclusive rights to be the only one that can sell that generic item.
This is where being a brand owner and having your items branded and registered, rather than generic, gives you more scope to protect the listing and put more brand specific details in.
You really need to read seller university and the policies as has been suggested to you by others.

00

Seller_rGtEcZnu0JTRD

Under Amazon terms you cannot create a listing for the same product, so not only can you list on the listing with the same product, under Amazon terms you have to sell on it. Hence the reason no personalisation or reference to an individual seller is allowed.

Let me start by thanking you for your answer.
Here is my policy violations (and they keep growing), although am re-editing them (cutting content).

Here is a sample of my listings with issues.

Take for example my listing with ASIN B0B8T7BHS7 Here is the amazon listing for it.

I do not see a problem. I ve checked product description, keywords…nothing!

Can you understand what is wrong with it?

I do not understand what I need to do about violation 1. I mean am not a Brand, so the item is Generic Unbranded. What do you mean by saying that ANY seller can sell on this listing? (I do not understand it…excuse my ignorance).

Under Amazon terms you cannot create a listing for the same product, so not only can you list on the listing with the same product, under Amazon terms you have to sell on it. Hence the reason no personalisation or reference to an individual seller is allowed.

Dear Hanmia,

I have to thank you for all of your answers. You are a true problem solver. Your suggestions were up to the point.
My policy violations are getting fewer every day, (by editing them), as you instructed.
One more questions: if I enroll as a brand, will I be able to claim/correlate my current listings to my brand (and have the ASINS exclusively owned by my brand) or do I have to create new listings, new ASINS etc.

Thank you!
