Invoices from distributors

Hi

I am trying to find distributors to be able to list the products aligning with the amazon requirements. i found some but they have to be the brand's authorized distributor or it can be any distributors? for example one say:

we do not work directly with Amazon, they do accept our invoices but we are unaware of their requirements to sell products on their platform, please discuss with them before making your purchase with us. Please note that we are authorized distributors but we do not provide authorization letters.

what can i understand from this message?

Bottom line is that you need brand authorization, meaning a business relationship with a brand. They would provide you with an LOA and a distributor. Most distributors, like you posted do not have authorization for you to sell a brands product on a marketplace.

Listings Lounge: Ability to Sell Brands on Amazon

In today's topic for Listings Lounge, we are going to discuss the the reasons for brand approvals.

Wondering why you can't sell certain branded products on Amazon? Here's what you need to know about brand restrictions and approval processes.

Amazon maintains strict control over which sellers can offer specific brands and products in certain categories. While the exact reasons for restrictions are often confidential, Amazon's primary goal is to:

* Ensure product authenticity

* Maintain safety standards

* Comply with local and regional regulations

If your application to sell certain brands is not approved, you have two options:

* Reapply at a later date (though approval is not guaranteed)

* Contact the brand owner directly to explore alternative reselling opportunities

To learn which products you may be eligible to sell, please consult Amazon's Sourcing Guidelines.

If you have a specific case you would like us to look into, please create a new discussion under Create and Manage Listings and the relevant tag, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

What is a brand you had a hard time getting approved for or how did you get approval for a brand that you previously were not allowed to sell?

Looking forward to hearing back from you all!

@Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9types faster than I do!

Start with "we do not provide authorization letters." That means you need to get an LOA from EVERY BRAND before you even think about buying anything from ANY source.

You have the proverbial cart before the proverbial horse and are likely headed for a REAL problem here.

You START by getting an LOA. At that point your sales rep at the brand can tell you who they use as authorized wholesalers if they do not wholesale themselves. Many (most?) will sell direct but the quantities may be prohibitive for starters.

I have some direct accounts and the minimums are only a few hundred dollars. I have others that I need to order nearly $2,000 to get 'end column' pricing.

I was looking at one source that required $20,000 across three pallets. THAT did not happen.

LOA FIRST, then source.

That's good. They may or may not be authorized distributors. You will find this out when you communicate with the brand owner. Assuming they are an authorized distributor it is a good sign they do not issue an authorization because it would be meaningless -- they do not have the right to authorize. Only the brand owner has that right.
