Someone Placed over 172 pending orders
Someone placed 172 orders that are in pending status and we believe this is a competitor doing this to hold up our inventory. We have reported this to Amazon and Amazon stated there is nothing they can do about this. This is very frustrating. Mods PLEASE HELP!!

@Seller_3aYIp9GPIEqKn have you already submitted an abuse report?
Can you share the support case ID for me to dig into to see where we can help?

same thing happened to me and all I do is just add the quantity amount back to my inventory

I'm not sure how helpful it actually would end up being but under report abuse there's a section called 'another seller is attempting to harm my business' with says that it covers "Placing orders on your products for the purpose of holding your inventory." so it may be worth a shot to actively file a report too.

Hi just curious how does a competitor make an item go into pending status? I have several of mine like that but its not a large quantity
Seller_OMYQjr7q0xJX1
Yes, frustrating.
Another seller posted something I think a good idea: Change the item quantity upward in the same amount as the quantity tied up by the pending order.
Problem is, at least I'm not proactively notified of such pending orders. I only see that if I'm online at Seller Central and notice pending. In my experience, sellers are not immediately sent word of such a pending order via e-mail.
Personally, I think prospective buyers should be given 12 hours max to get their payment method act together. After that, the order automatically cancels. This business of inventory being tied up for three days plus because a customer doesn't have available credit or needs to update their expiration date is absurd IMO. Think of the b & m equivalent of that: 'Sure, sir, we're closing the store but you can hang out overnight while you speak to your bank on the phone so no one else buys that item you want . . .'

Problem is when orders are pending and do not go through it still subtracts from your current inventory. Tee system does not add back in. It has been an ongoing problem and why sellers need to audit inventory.

that has been happening to me also. not that many order but several. since they don't show you the name under pending, is there any way to figure out who it is to report them?

Yes. I often have that same issue. With a little following, re adding inventory, rinse and repeat, they get weary of it after a few days. It seems like a bot could be employed to cut that off after a few orders of the same product from the same seller.

I have one item that has been sitting pending for over a month what I would like to know is I am still going to be accountable for the FBA storage fees while amazon allows the customer to hold up my inventory for an entire month?
