FBA - Parent Child relation is breaking,

My product has 6 variations, 5 FBA - 1 FBM (this last one was inactive after FBA was out of stock and I converted to FMB as it sells very few).

I had my parent ASIN for a long time and used these as parent with 6 child, but for the last one month parent child relation is breaking somehow. I do upload with excel file, all with success, parent stays for around 24 hours, and then parent separates from child ASINs saying ‘incomplete’ in inventory. When I click to Incomplete to learn the reason it says "This SKU has an inconsistent product classification with the ASIN. Please submit a feed to update this SKU to match the ASIN product classification. ".

Does anyone has an idea what could cause this and how could I solve this?

Have you also checked browse nodes are consistent?

Amazon have a habit of changing browse nodes randomly on some ASIN’s. I have seen it before where they have changed the children and not the parent and then they become separated.

Also you indicate the parent and children only get separated a day or so after you upload the file which suggests something is being changed on the children or parent to do this.

If everything is the same there is not much else I can help with. I have only had the message when there has been an obvious discrepancy between parent and children.

EDIT - Is there anyone else on the listing who maybe changing anything?

Normally there is something different between your parent and children ASIN’s

For me I have see this when the brand is different between the parent and children ASIN’s.

It is worth checking what key values such as Brand, Manufacturer etc are on the parent and the children and see if they are different.

Hi, thanks for reply.

Except item name, SKU and identifier (ASIN/ UPC) everything are the same. Brand, manufacturer, all necessary information are same for parent and childs.

That’s what he message I receive says, but I can’t figure out what it is. As previous message, Everything are same, and till this happened around a month ago parent child relationship was fine and working. I made updates but did not change any key value.

Hi again, I believe this could be the case. Thanks for highlighting this, I never thought of it and I was not aware.

Looks like one of the listings are changing to another category (a you mentioned) and I removed it from parent child relationship (leaving 5 others as child). Let’s see what happens and I will try to find out why and how category of the last one is changing.

I am UK distributor/ seller of this brand, but in USA manufacturer sells directly. Maybe they changed the category of that ASIN in USA and it effects me in the UK.

Thanks a lot, I will let you know after watching the listing 48 hours.

As you mentioned, it was one of the variations, Amazon changed it’s category. The other 5 is doing fine under one parent for almost a week.

Thanks a lot.
