There isn't really a silver bullet to amazons PPC campaigns. They simply take a lot of hard work.
If you were spending too much, then you'd need to look at your daily budget, what you are bidding, are you bidding on really popular keywords? Could you try bidding on more exact keywords etc. You need to look into your current advertising. It could well be that your £100 sales came from one particular search term - so then you cut out the rest and focus on that.

It takes time. You need to look at your search terms. What's driving conversion? A particular phrase?
Download a search term report and look at ROAS & ACOS for profitability, but also bare in mind impressions
The strategy most used by sellers is to assign SKUs to a campaign using Broad search terms, let that run for a week or 2 then download the data and trim the fat. What keywords are costing you money with nothing in return? Get rid of them.
I'd recommend going on YouTube.

If you're new to Amazon PPC I would start with one Campaign with ALL your products in it and set it to Automatic with a very low CPC, i.e. £0.02
You can learn from this campaign and see what products and keywords are best to target.
